This series was so fun to read, and it's even more fun in audio form! Shiromi Arserio does a wonderful job with the character voices. Highly recommend.

It is so exciting that House of Oak is finally getting the full series treatment on Audible! I cannot wait to hear the other titles. Intertwine has been one of my favorite audiobook reads for years. After hearing that the entire series was being released, I hopped onto Audible and noticed that Intertwine was now almost an hour longer than than copy I already owned. It had to be purchased - and I'm so glad I bought it! Shiromi Arserio re-recorded this book, and it's even better than the original. The pacing is great, and the voice inflection/differentiation of voices is even better than before. I wholeheartedly recommend this to all Nichole Van readers. Join me in looking forward to the rest of the series!

Simply put: "The Lady and the Gent" is FUN.
This is a great combination of romance meeting intrigue. It's unique, it's sharp, it's memorable, and it's rewarding.
The book is un-put-downable and the characters will stick with you after the last page.
What could be better?
MEETING THE CHARACTERS IN AUDIO FORM!
Thank you, Jessica Elisa Boyd, for a wonderful narration -- and Thank you, author, for releasing this as an audiobook! Cannot wait for the rest!

Be warned: while "The London League" could tentatively be considered a series of interconnected standalones (well, the earliest titles at least), there is most definitely a significant arc that spans all five books. While "The Lady and the Gent" does not end on a cliffhanger, the reader is left with unanswered questions. Have patience -- it will all resolve in good time!

Content:
Language: A handful of mild swears
Relationships: Mild, maxing out with kisses
Violence: Limited and non-descriptive in this title

This series is FUN -- honestly, one of KM Shea's best. It has it all: memorable characters, fast pacing, original storyline, outstanding banter, and KM Shea's trademark humor. What could be better? Oh, I don't know ... how about throwing in a PERFECT narration as well? Both Natalie Duke and Alister Austin are a pleasure to listen to, and they made a wonderful story even better. Most of the first book, Magic Forged, comes from Hazel's point of view, so Natalie carries almost all of the narration this time around (if you're familiar with the story, you'll remember the character headers at the top of each chapter. The narrations follow that guide, with Alister reading the chapters that are in Killian's point of view, and Natalie gets the rest.). Both differentiate the voices nicely, and I had no trouble keeping track of the fairly large cast of characters. I particularly liked Natalie's voice for Hazel -- it's just how I envisioned the character. Snappy, sassy, bold, and the tiniest bit shrill when shifting from Virtuous Idiot to Yapping Puppy mode. ❤ Super fitting!

Cannot wait for the release of Magic Redeemed and Magic Unleashed.

Series Content:
Violence: Present, but non-descriptive and not gratuitous
Language: A handful of extremely mild swears
Relationships: Squeaky clean
Rating: Would likely fall somewhere in the upper PG range to very low PG-13

The Mute of Pendywick Place is such a wonderful series, and Bill Schafer is a pleasure to listen to. The story is engaging, the voices unique but not overdone, and the pacing perfect. I look forward to enjoying this one over and over. Thank you, Alydia, for such a wonderful Christmas gift!

I sincerely hope we see the remaining four titles in this outstanding series show up on Audible in the coming months! Book 1 is more of an introductory novella to a delightful four-part story (well, okay, five part - if you count this one). There are other books as well, but the initial five cover the main story arc. I highly recommend this series if you are looking for a Victorian intrigue with a dash or two of romance. The story is suitable for all ages, as it is squeaky clean both in language and relationships. There is a bit of violence, but nothing gratuitous or gory.

The narrator did a fantastic job -- he reminds me so much of Alan Cummings. It felt a tad overdone at a couple points and some of the weightier moments could have used less levity, but those are more personal preferences than actual criticism. Wholeheartedly recommend snatching this one up, and don't forget to seek out the other titles as well!

I love this story. It's extremely original, yet faithful to Jane Austen's characters. The story deviates from canon right after Bingley & Darcy escape to London. Darcy decides to return to Hertfordshire and happens upon a carriage accident. What follows becomes the basis of the tale.

The narrator is not overly expressive or strong in differentiating voices, but does a great job clearly reading the story. If you go into this expecting a pleasant reading of a unique take on Pride & Prejudice, you will not be disappointed.

Nancy Campbell Allen's steampunk fairy tales are always a joy to read -- they are so much fun. I really enjoyed getting to know Sam and Hazel better, and weaving in a little Rapunzel along the way made it all the more unique. As with the others in this series, the fairy tale connection is very, VERY loose, though -- do not expect a retelling of a well known story. These are entirely original.

I was also impressed by Elizabeth Knowelden's performance -- wow, she knows how to do voices! Brilliant work. The narrative parts read a little slower than I'd prefer, but that's my only (extremely minor) criticism. I look forward to enjoying this story again and again.
