Builds up to a To Be Continued
Revisado: 01-10-25
The ovreall story is interesting; however, it was a bit confusing. Some of the “why”s were hard to grasp. I reminded several times and often just let it go. Indeed, the overall intent is clear and is still interesting enough to be compelled to listen. Just know that this literally builds up to…. “The end”, so yes, it ends in the middle of the story , so there will definitely be another book to listen to to gain full clarity or to reach any pinnacle of the story.

No crimes of passion. The perfect murder is always business, never pleasure.”

Hell of a twist at the end that I never would have considered! Interesting storyline is enhanced by the performance and sound effects. James Patterson is becoming a road-trip favorite.

Historia
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

I typically struggle listening to fiction; however, this was an amazing listen. Im appreciative of the performance because this is a must-read / must-listen for Americans in particular, including young people (btw, there is a youth edition).

Very engaging. Interesting story with twists and unexpected turns. Great performance. It ended ripe for a second part - the ending was really the beginning to another story.

Great trilogy although a seemingly forced ending
Revisado: 03-20-24
Still a good story, although the ending was a bit out-of-sorts to me…. Details that were meticulous throughout seemed to be less intentional, particularly when considering the characteristics and relationships of the characters, at the end. This made the ending a bit weird. Perhaps it was challenging to find an ending - idk. Still a good listen overall and a great trilogy. There is a potentially finite fate for Fedu, it seems, so that was nice.

Who says sequels are never as good as the 1st?!
Revisado: 03-07-24
Wonderful story that doesn’t disappoints. A smooth continuation with sufficient and scarce “1st book reminders”, so as not to be repetitive, but new, while familiar. I listened to this as non-stop as possible! Really great authors note at the end which makes you further appreciate the author’s fact-based fictional creativity.

Outstanding Reading
Revisado: 01-18-24
The reading performance was so engaging! I couldn't stop listening to it. Sequels are often less engaging; however, this was at least the same level of awesome as the first book. The author managed to maintain the original storyline, while introducing innovation (without overreaching). The reason no was amazing and I could see everything so vivedly in my mind. I couldn't even multitask to this book! Am excellent listen

Couldn’t stop listening
Revisado: 01-13-24
Brilliantly written. Very interesting and engaging. Clear intersection between “race” and even a bit of ethnicity.
One critique (hopefully constructive) I often got lost in who was whom (it took quite some time before I realized that the character’s name was given to indicate whose perspective was being narrated). A bit more difference in voice by the reader would have assisted because I spent a lot of time trying to determine who was talking.

Historia
This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.

A Classic for Sure!
Revisado: 12-11-23
It’s crazy how King wrote such a profound book that literally came to life in 2020 with “super flu” COVID. Like the book, humanity learned lessons that were immediately forgotten and we went back to self-destruction. Also, like King predicts, nature began healing and we immediately began hurting it again. People never learn! Great book. Great story that I never wanted to stop listening to.
