For me, this was by far the best of the hunger, games series. It had so much heart and soul, it filled in and broadened the entire hunger games universe. The narration was beautiful, the characters were poetically well written, literally at times. I’m not gonna lie, there’s so much sadness in this story but yet there’s a lot of beauty in it as well. I’m not usually one to read or listen books that make me cry, but this one was well worth the effort. It tells not only Hamitch’s story, but it gives you so much of the “why” in the future hunger game books.

If you haven’t read the ballad of songbirds and snakes, you have to read it before you do this one. There is so much you will miss and not understand if you don’t listen to that book 1st. Trust me, even though that book is not nearly as good as this one, you will be glad you did when you see how much it enhances this story.

One of my favorite Amanda Quick novels. I love the way she writes her characters with such passion, intelligence, and a good deal of humor. If you love, Regency romance novels, this is a must have. The narrator is wonderful, and has a very soothing voice, which is perfect for this type of novel. I’m so glad I am rediscovering this genre, in particular, this author that I loved so much many years ago.

This is the 3rd book in the Gods of Olympus series. I devoured the original Percy Jackson series when it came out and thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this set. But this book, Mark of Athena, is where everything finally gels together perfectly. From the Roman/Greek differences, new/returning campers, and Olympians/Giants the synthesis this book creates makes it a wonderful audiobook.

The narrator, Joshua Swanson, has grown on me and by the end of this book had me in gut wrenching tears over my favorite duo. Knowing what’s coming with the narrator of the next two books (this is a review after I’ve listened to the entire series) I will sorely miss him. He had a lot more characters to bring to life with a ton of diversity and did a good job giving each character their presence in this series.

My only criticism is that it gets a bit bogged down in the middle, with a couple of parts seemingly being dragged on too long, but truthfully I only noticed because this is the 4th time I’ve gone through the set. Enjoy this book while you can because the next book’s narrator….well, let’s just say you should at minimum listen to him on 1.25 or 1.5 speed. And even that barely makes listening to it tolerable. You’ve been warned.

I’ve listened to this book more times than I can count. The writing is wonderful, the narration is amazing and when combined together, it creates a magical experience.

This was a pretty good follow-up in the When In Rome books by Sarah Adams. I adored the first book, both the storyline and the narrators. The plot line was a lot thinner in this one and the heroine’s underlying issues were not as fleshed out as I thought they could have been. Her reactions were overwhelmingly dramatic for me at times. But the narrators did a good job with the material and the hero’s storyline and motivations were much more believable.

I love the setting, supporting characters, and that we got to see further into Noah and Annie’s future. I would recommend listening to the first installment before this book, it will make your experience much more enjoyable.

Love this book, listened to it multiple times. Fun, snappy plot. Wonderful narration (adore Teddy Hamilton!), and the right mix of romance/drama/spice make this a great read for anyone looking for a lighthearted read.

The main character has a twin and at the end it hints a setup for a possible sequel but it’s in the “stand alone” category for now. Would love someday to find out what happened to Jonas!

I wanted to love this book. I think I may even try to get the kindle version, but after ten ear shattering chapters I couldn’t take it anymore. The female narrator sounds like a cross between a tour guide and an elderly woman from a rich background. The male narrator’s voice was like nails on a chalkboard from the moment he started and his female impression was beyond awful.

I have never left this type of review before, I usually just delete it and move on but this performance by both lead parts is so bad it should come with a warning.

I really enjoyed this book. It is the first one I have read by the author. My only disappointment comes from not having enough Teddy Hamilton in the book. I actually was looking for books that he narrated when I came across this title. I am used to having one to one narrations when it comes to female and male characters. This book is 2 or 3 to 1 in favor of the female character’s POV.

It could simply be the writing style of this author, but I think she does her self a disservice not bringing in more of Nathan‘s side of the story. That and I simply love Teddy Hamilton‘s voice and could listen to him read the phone book.

I have always been an Julia Quinn fan, and devoured her Bridgerton series back when it was first published in 2000. Seeing The Duke and I taken and adapted on Netflix encouraged me to go back and give this audible books a try.

I have never heard a better narrator for a romance story than Rosalyn Landor. I truly believed that there were several people acting out the voices as the book went on. I already love the plot and now I love the narration as well. If you like romance, Julia Quinn, or enjoyed Bridgerton on Netflix, I would highly suggest you give this book a try.

If Shonda Rhimes is following the series Anthony will be next season and this will give you a Touch of some of things you might see.

Warning: If you do not know the series and do not want spoilers, DO NOT LISTEN TO THE 2nd Epilogue at the end of this book. It talks about Colin and his wife (book #4) as well as a couple other things that won’t happen soon in the books if you go in order.

Okay, not as good as Compromised

The narrator is awesome as always. I stumbled across this author and have devoured three of her books in just a few days. My gripe with this one is that for me there is not enough drama.

Yes there is bits here and there but there is not enough between the two main characters other than the normal misunderstandings that permeate any Jane and Darcy book. There was more tension and angst between Charlotte and the Colonel then either Bennett sister.

If you are new to this author, I would highly recommend listening to “Compromised” first. Same author and narrator and a much better plot. It will help make this one more tolerable.
