What the heck happened here?
Revisado: 07-12-23
I can’t even begin to describe how truly horrible this collection is. I felt like I was sitting in a 7th grade reading class and three bored and boring teachers were reading to the class. The stories were thrown together as if the authors ran short of time before the publication date. So sad.

Historia
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

Gritty
Revisado: 01-28-23
This book is not at all what I was expecting. It’s more than a self help book as someone said in another review. I am a senior citizen and I found this book a gritty amazing example of determination, tenacity and a little bit of stupidity. I don’t say that to be offensive, but oh my I found myself saying, “no, buddy no.” I could feel the physical pain. God bless his mother for her courage and support. And thank you sir for giving her credit. There are a lot of great ideas and messages in this book.

Historia
Tim Kennedy has a problem; he only feels alive right before he’s about to die. Kennedy, a Green Beret, decorated Army sniper, and UFC headliner, has tackled a bull with his bare hands, jumped out of airplanes, dove to the depths of the ocean, and traveled the world hunting poachers, human traffickers, and the Taliban. But he’s also the same man who got kicked out of the police department, fire department, and as an EMT, before getting two women pregnant four days apart, and finally, been beaten up by his Special Forces colleagues.

Overwhelming
Revisado: 07-27-22
First, I am not, nor do I anticipate that I will ever be an MMA fan. Second, I had never heard of Tim Kennedy (sorry Tim), but this is one of the best books I have ever read and I do a lot of reading. This book brought tears to my eyes, made me laugh and shake my head in both agreement and astonishment. Thanks to Tim and his friends for everything they did and continue to do. As great as it would be to meet Tim in person, I’d really love to meet Ginger! What an amazing woman she must be to support her husband in all his craziness. If I could say one thing to get everyone to read this book, I would, but there isn’t any one thing to describe just how great it is.

Revisado: 07-09-22
I’ve never listened to this author before, but I am moving him to the top of my list now. This book was fabulous and “statically” speaking one of the best I’ve listened to lately. Must go now and find something else great to read by him. Enjoy!

Analogy of an analogy of an analogy
Revisado: 06-26-21
I don’t particularly enjoy books that start by telling two seemingly different stories, knowing that in some way they will come together. Even with his extensive overuse of analogies, I tried to keep going, but when the third story came along, I was done. I seldom leave a book unfinished, but this book is too overdone. I can’t make myself finish it.

Somewhat Confusing
Revisado: 05-08-21
More and more writers are using the past and present much like watching a tennis ball being hit back and forth across a net. This book falls into that category. It took a bit for me to figure out the players and the game, but once I got it, I enjoyed the book. I have watched The Crown and Call the Midwife on Netflix and I put faces on the characters, which, for me, made it more enjoyable. Not the best, but certainly worth the read.

Interesting from beginning to end
Revisado: 05-25-20
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought the performance was perfect and the story was captivating from the start. Each character is so well developed I could picture them in my mind. I will definitely buy more books by Liane Moriarty and will also be recommending it to my friends! Buy it, read and enjoy.

Historia
We were childhood friends, me and the boy who would grow up to become Hollywood's hottest star. When I was six, I fell for him at the bus stop. When I was 15, he moved away, taking my heart with him. When I was 24, he came back for me, even though I didn't want him. The nine years we spent apart, I tried like hell to fill the void. Apparently, so did he. Instead of being addicted to me, he became addicted to women, drugs, and money.

A Little Naughty Fun
Revisado: 11-28-18
This is no literary masterpiece. But it is a fun read. Sexually explicit, so if that bothers you, you should pass. The story is very predictable, even the surprises aren’t surprising. But it’s a fun book and for me it was a great escape. I would read another book by this author. Think of it as as little bit of naughty pleasure.

At night, his Ma shuts him safely in the wardrobe, where he is meant to be asleep when Old Nick visits. Room is home to Jack, but to Ma, it is the prison where Old Nick has held her captive for seven years. Through determination, ingenuity, and fierce motherly love, Ma has created a life for Jack. But she knows it's not enough...not for her or for him.

Jack is so endearing
Revisado: 11-12-18
I read several reviews about how much people disliked the book because Jack narrates and yet the story is from Jack’s view point. I loved the story, the way Jack speaks is endearing and believable. I enjoyed the book and highly suggest it #rippedfromtheheaines
