Historia
After being murdered by a mystery assailant, navigating his way through the realm between life and death, and being brought back to the mortal world, Harry realizes that maybe death wasn’t all that bad - because he is no longer Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. He is now Harry Dresden, Winter Knight to Mab, the Queen of Air and Darkness. After Harry had no choice but to swear his fealty, Mab wasn’t about to let something as petty as death steal away the prize she had sought for so long.

Revisado: 12-12-12
It was great to have Harry and his friends back for yet another incredible performance. What a great journey; how does every book just get better than the next. And James Marsters is Harry Dresden; what a performance! Jim Butcher manages to create characters that are funny, insightful, interesting, and also kick-ass warriors. Truly another great "mr. toad's wild ride" full of adventure. Am so hoping book 15 is available the day after tomorrow! :)

Entertaining and Fun
Revisado: 07-20-11
What a fun book to listen too. The narrator's performance was outstanding and added to the novel. What a clever and detailed story. Optimus Yarnspinner's character was so well defined that to close one's eyes was to see him in detail...as was every aspect of the book. The vocabulary and pacing of words (lots of descriptive detail) - couldn't help wondering what it would be like to have read it in German. Can't compare to the original but the translation is a wonderful, refreshing story. Highly recommend if you like long, detailed, enriched stories.

Fafhrd/Gray Mouser
Revisado: 08-21-08
Thank you Audible for making Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd/Gray Mouser series available. The narrator Jonathan Davis does an outstanding job of bringing life to this saga. Mr. Leiber was such a wonderful wordsmith. Listening to this series is such a treat after reading them all 25+ years ago. Highly recommend this book (and others in the set) to those who enjoy 'high adventure, sorcery and witchery' and lots of dialogue.

Disappointing!
Revisado: 05-05-08
Can only agree with the general disappointment regarding the narrator. The narrator's voice may be fine for children's books but not for a demon-leather wearing witch. Jinks now sounds like a prissy mickey-mouse and major characters' names are prounounced differently - couldn't some homework have been done? The presentation is uneven and the main character's voices change continuously.
The author's story is consistent with her other books and deserves at least a 4 rating, but the impact of the new narrator is to important to ignore. If she had narrated the earlier books, i would have never gotten past the first one. In this case, i recommend reading the book rather than listening to it.

Historia
Stormy Weather centers on the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. The devastation of the storm has attracted crowds of voyeurs and impostors to Florida. Drawn by the chance to prey on Andrew's victims, misfits like the murderous ex-con Snapper and the dangerously seductive Edie find easy targets for their insurance scams. They're not prepared, though, when they meet their opposition, led by a hoary ex-governor who smokes toads.
Both hilariously funny and deadly accurate, Carl Hiaasen's novel will take you into a Florida that is far from the frilly palms and pink flamingos of its post cards.

Remarkable!
Revisado: 09-27-06
What a wonderful story and completion (?)of the Tales of Otori. Was concerned by the change in narrators (don't ya hate that!), but they both were excellent. As much of the story was in the voices of the children and the parents were older, the change was seamless. If you have not read the other books, the story stands on its own and has enough summary to understand continued plot. Strongly recommend reading/listening to all four books; what an epic.

The Gingerbreadman, psychopath, sadist, genius, and killer, is on the loose. But it isn't Jack Spratt's case. He and Mary Mary have been demoted to Missing Persons following Jack's poor judgment involving the poisoning of Mr. Bun the baker. Missing Persons looks like a boring assignment until a chance encounter leads them into the hunt for missing journalist Henrietta "Goldy" Hatchett, star reporter for The Daily Mole.

This was such an enjoyable listen. The actors and the music were great. Especially liked that all the songs were replayed again after the book was finished. If you enjoy music of the 40's, the idea of an all-girl band, and murder mystery's, don't pass this one by - you will not be disappointed!

Although Barrett Whitener is excellent as narrator of the other books in this series, it was really enjoyable to hear the author narrate one of his own book. To hear some of the voices, songs, and puns as the originator had envisioned them added another dimension to all the books. Recommend the whole series: Callahan's Chronicle (1st three books), Callahan's Legacy (4th), Callahan's Keys (5th) and Callahan's Con (6th).

This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, a librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36, and were married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry has Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his past, present, and future.
