Historia
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history. Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.

Honesty and Vulnerability
Revisado: 11-18-23
I was skeptical to start this book. And yes, there are some sections where you question Britney's ability to recollect things correctly. I am a historian. I understand how memories are contingent on the person relaying them. But I think we can all agree, the conservatorship she was was forced into at such a young age was traumatizing. I for one, always hope for Britney to find her power and her happiness. At the end of the day, being happy is all that matters.

Historia
Life in a small town can be tough. It can be even tougher when you're a witch whose magic regularly backfires. But Summer Thorne only wants one thing: to create the perfect sanctuary for unwanted animals. Nothing and no one is going to stop her. Not even the sexy sheriff who is determined to shut down her rescue center. And certainly not the laboratory where she illegally obtained her mischievous chimpanzee, Morty. Sheriff Cooper Carlyle has one goal: to keep his town safe. That includes his stubborn neighbor, Summer, whether she wants him to or not.

Disappointed
Revisado: 03-21-23
The "season sisters" seem like good and interesting characters. Unfortunately, they are frequently overshadowed by the misogynistic and border line abusive male characters and the crude high school vernacular. I probably won't continue this series.

Historia
On November 22, 1963, the First Lady accompanied her husband to Dallas, Texas dressed in a pink Chanel-style suit that was his favorite. Much of her wardrobe, including the pink suit, came from the New York boutique Chez Ninon, where a young seamstress, an Irish immigrant named Kate, worked behind the scenes to meticulously craft the memorable outfits. When the pink suit becomes infamous, Kate's already fragile world - divided between the excess and artistry of Chez Ninon and the traditional values of her insular neighborhood - threatens to rip apart.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

I am 42 yrs old and have never read anything more powerful in my life. I applaud Prince Harry for speaking his truth and can only hope he and Megan know, that they have so many people in their corner. This has been a truly eye-opening read! As a narrator, he was fantastic!! He could easily make a career out of that alone.

Historia
Reluctant to leave her cherished New England hometown after her sister's winter wedding, former journalist Vera Sterling makes a sudden decision. She takes what's left of her severance pay and invests it in real estate ... in one particular drafty colonial home and old timber barn set upon the pretty banks of Addison Cove. In that rough-hewn barn, she discovers a secret treasure left behind by the previous owner, the proprietor of the long-forgotten Christmas Barn gift shop. While restoring her run-down, wood-sided home--its creaking floors, broken banister, and neglected widow's walk--that secret slowly unfolds like a bit of snowflake wonder, crystallizing hopes and dreams for many in this small Connecticut town.

Short and Easy
Revisado: 12-08-21
This was essentially like reading the script to a Hallmark movie. It was cute but predictable. I did not care for the narration at all. The voice was more suited to a documentary on the Serengeti than a love story.

Revisado: 03-08-21
It has been a long time since I have found a character that I can relate to as much as Eliza Lucas. The story from beginning to end was beautifully and respectfully told. A must read for any lover of history or any lover of a good, and mostly true, story. Just marvelous!!
