Historia
Miss Camilla Pierpont, a renowned matchmaker and influential member of the New York Four Hundred, has vowed never to marry after suffering a devastating heartbreak during her debut years ago. However, when she is nearly abducted along the Hudson River, she finds herself rescued by an annoyingly outspoken, albeit fascinating, gentleman who challenges her in a manner she wasn't expecting.

Disappointed
Revisado: 10-23-24
I love Jen Turano! The story line, the humor is always pleasing and enjoyable. Having said that, it is never a good idea to change narrators in a series.

Historia
Marygene Brown always figured she'd marry her childhood sweetheart, Alex Myers, not cater his wedding. But the Peach Diner could use the exposure. Most of the island is showing up - although more for the role-playing murder game at the reception than for the widely loathed bridezilla, Lucy Carmichael. Marygene may have to smile through the festivities, but Mama doesn't have to hold her peace - especially since only Marygene can hear her mother's ghost. Mama says she sees an aura of darkness around the wedding.

So So
Revisado: 06-20-17
I own every book written by Karen Witemeyer. I have always enjoyed her books. However, I must admit that the earlier books are better. I purchased this book on Audible I would probably have enjoyed it better had I just read it. Sadly, the narrator did not help the book. I did not like the voice given to the main male character at all.

No. Unfortunately, the narrator ruins the story.

Yes
Would you be willing to try another one of Cynthia Wallace’s performances?
Absolutely not.
Could you see Maids of Misfortune: A Victorian San Francisco Mystery being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Possibly but I wouldn't know actors.
Any additional comments?
I previously read the book and thought it a decent story. However, I couldn't listen to the narrator.
