Point of departure

It was hard getting used to a new narrator. I liked CJ Critt’s interpretation of the characters better. The story was fast paced and horrifying. I like the continued stories of the major characters.

Riveting characters and story line
Revisado: 06-26-24
Very intriguing plot and character development. It’s a very unique story about what people are willing to do to justify their actions based on what they think is the truth and then try to repair the consequences when the real truth is presented.

Predictable
Revisado: 06-22-23
I read other reviews before selecting the title to read. I loved Red Widow. The novel was predictable and not particularly engaging. I really did not get involved in the characters. It seemed like with a better editing it would have had some life.

Historia
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe. Catch a tiger by its toe. It's seared into Atlee Pine's memory: the kidnapper's chilling rhyme as he chose between six-year-old Atlee and her twin sister, Mercy. Mercy was taken. Atlee was spared. She never saw Mercy again. Three decades after that terrifying night, Atlee Pine works for the FBI. She's the lone agent assigned to the Shattered Rock, Arizona resident agency, which is responsible for protecting the Grand Canyon. So when one of the Grand Canyon's mules is found stabbed to death at the bottom of the canyon - and its rider missing - Pine is called in to investigate.

Atlee Pine first female hero for Baldacci
Revisado: 03-13-19
It’s a tough sell for Baldacci’s first female hero. She is bigger than life as are most of his heroes but has not quite captured the feminine warrior. I think I might have liked her better with a different reader. I found it hard to keep the female characters separate during the big moments. For me, Brittany did not capture the essence of the character. Was not thrilled with the male reader Kyf either.
