Nathaniel and Ashlyn were a cute couple. And the idea of Terramates an interesting concept for a series. One drawback to the story was the sheer number of times the author repeated herself, relaying details the reader already knew. This issue was also linked to the author's penchant for telling details that would've served the story well through showing. This continued even to the end with Lace doing a year recap, which wasn't at all the most engaging or fulfilling way to end a story.

Beautiful and Heartrending

I won this audiobook from a Booklikes giveaway.

Orton weaves an intricate, multi-dimensional tale of heartache, hope, and love. This is a wonderfully crafted and wickedly inventive tale of humanity at the brink and a love that may save the world. Isabelle and Diego are great characters. I liked Isabelle, but I loved Diego. Time and again, he was there for Isabelle, saving and loving her, even when she was being difficult and unreasonable. And while yes, Isabelle did need saving many times she was in no way a damsel-in-distress. Their rocky history yet rich and powerful love transcends time and place, taking the reader on an emotional rollercoaster ride of passion and pain. Orton does both exceedingly well, with a poetic-like prose I found captivating and, at times, heartbreaking.

The narrators, Noah and Erin, brought this engaging novel to life. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and this was, by far, the best of a very big lot. For the narration alone, I recommend this book. But the book can stand on its own.

Great descriptive storytelling

The author has the most beautiful and sophisticated way of describe people, places, and things. The world is well detailed and complex. And the reader is dropped in the middle of it all.

If you could sum up Fire, Fury, Faith in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining
Lovely
Heart-warming

What was one of the most memorable moments of Fire, Fury, Faith?

The information the author gave about the brutality of the slave raid. The author didn't dwell on the ugliness of such events, but told just enough so the reader could get a feel for its cruelty and impact on its survivors - Serwa and Issa

Which scene was your favorite?

Serwa 's forgiveness. She was a powerful angel with a good heart. But she wasn't the type of angel that was all goodness and light. There were depths to both main characters. But Serwa was a forgiving character, which endeared her to me.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Issa's efforts at redemption was heartbreaking as much as it was heart-warming to see how much he loved his wife and daughters. He was a true Guardian Angel.

I hope the author continues with the second book in the series.
