maybe his best book so far

I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series. The concepts are solid and they are big in scope and time. the short lapses into romance novel territory a few pages ever 100 were distracting, but nothing that would lower my recommendation. amazing set of stories and the ending of this one was perfection. loved the rockswolf storyline. please please please write more

starts over simple but turns into a great story

the performance was way too slow and monotone at first, but I'm glad I kept going. I still didn't like the delivery, but ended up really liking the story more and more as it progressed.

terrible performance lame hero

I really really like PFH and thought this was very excited to read this. Saw some of the reviews about the narration being bad, but bought all three anyway. It took all I had to get through the first book. I think it would have been better read by the default Kindle reader. Then I thought maybe the story would make up for it. After Pandora's Star and The Dreaming Void this deserved a full listen. In the middle of the third book I realized I couldn't stand the hero. She is constantly whining and crying along with the narrator middle of the third book I finally figured out the character was extremely weak. Did not enjoy these, but forced my way through. This desperately needs a new narration which might make up for really lame characters.

I love Hamilton's books and was excited to start it. Only a few minutes in I didn't think I could listen for another minute. I think a computer is easier to listen to. I persevered and I liked the story, but think it would be a lot better reading a paper copy. I later read some reviews and many said the same thing so beware. Tantor, re-record this book with a different narrator.

The story is fun filled adventure with a lot of very unique ideas that will have you cracking up and loving every character. Given their length for a single credit there isn't a better deal to be had in any universe.

A lot of this is technical word vomit, but written from so early in the computer age that many of these terms may have originated here. The back and forth discussions on what is consciousness are a lot of fun.
