Historia
On a cold night in December 1956, two young girls mysteriously vanished after a night at the movies on the Southwest Side of Chicago, beginning one of the greatest searches to ever take place in the history of the city. Three weeks later, the bodies of the two lost girls, Barbara and Patricia Grimes, were found on the side of a secluded, snow-covered road, miles from where they disappeared. The discovery of their battered corpses created one of the greatest unsolved mysteries to ever baffle post-war America. Where had the girls been for the past three weeks?

Great read! Loved this book
Revisado: 08-10-24
Troy Taylor has done it again. He has taken an old, nearly forgotten murder mystery, researched the hell out of it, interviewed everyone still available (still alive), and visited every location. He leaves no possibility unexplored. The sad story of the Grimes sisters is open and still painful and because of Taylor - those young ladies will not be forgotten.
Taylor writes clearly and understandably in an otherwise hard to follow story with many twists, turns, and theories. I love the way his sentences flow and he really draws the reader in. This is a book about a terrible end to many young Chicagoans and the Grimes sisters need their story to finally have an ending.
Mr. Huddleston has a wonderfully smooth voice that is easy to listen to and he uses inflections that keep him interesting to listen too.

Historia
Years before the name Alex Murdaugh was splashed across every major media outlet in America, local South Carolina journalist Mandy Matney had an instinct that something wasn’t right in the Lowcountry. The powerful Murdaugh dynasty had dominated rural South Carolina for generations. No one dared to cross them.

I have listened to MMP almost from the very first episode and couldn’t wait till each new episode, then added CofJ when that started. I was happy to listen to this book and was not disappointed. I have always been interested in “the back story”. Thank you Mandy, David, Liz, Eric and Justin. I respect and appreciate you all. And not to overlook Mark T, Creighton and Sandy.

Historia
Chicago during the Gaslight Era was a place that embodied both the elegance of America’s Gilded Age and the vice, crime, and sin of the most corrupt city in the country. During the 1880s and early 1890s, Chicago was home to killers, thieves, gamblers, con artists, and whores–and hosted perhaps the greatest World’s Fair in our nation’s history. It was to this place that a man named H.H. Holmes was drawn like a moth to the flame, and Chicago embraced him as one of its own.

Best HH Homes book ever!
Revisado: 08-09-22
Troy Taylor always digs deep for the truth in the history - not satisfied with myth or sensationalized tales. If you want the truth of the notorious HH Homes and all his evil deeds, this is the book for you. Taylor takes the reader along for a ride to all the places stained by Homes and allows our emotions to pull us along.
The performance of Mr. Huddleston was perfect for this book and the music enhanced the experience. He is rapidly becoming one of my favorite Audible readers.

It's Christmas in Los Angeles, 1927, and a bank officer named Perry Parker receives a bizarre ransom note, telling him that one of his twin daughters, Marion, has been kidnapped and that she'll be returned if he follows a series of explicit instructions. Little does Parker know, but his daughter is already dead - strangled and horribly dismembered by a madman who calls himself the "Fox."

Revisado: 10-14-21
Thank you Troy Taylor for bringing another piece of history back into the light. Such a sad story, including all the children in this book. So well researched and written, I could feel the pain of the parents who lost their children in such a horrible manner. He continues to keep readers and listeners mesmerized.
Even beyond the book, Mr. Huddleston really brings it all to life. His voice and emotional presentation are perfect for Troy’s books. He gets better with every performance I listen to. I am anxious for the next Taylor/Huddleston book.
Thanks to you both!

Troy Taylor always gives the very best in all his books. All true stories well researched and beautifully told. He leaves behind the myths told and retold by other authors and digs deep into the truth and facts. I have read many of his books but I eagerly await the next Audible installment, when Mr. Huddleston will again bring this history to life with his soft baritone and elegant cadence.

When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate - he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in 19th-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

Revisado: 07-01-20
So much I never knew about Lizzie, the Bordens and the murders. Writers of the past have held back so much. I had no idea how much more there was to learn about this most famous murder case and the woman who stood accused. A definite “must read” for history buffs, crime buffs, and lovers of all things haunted.

Historia
James Dommek, Jr., an Alaska Native writer and musician, sheds new light on a real-life mystery that pits Native American folklore against the US justice system. In the vast Alaskan Arctic, legend has it there once lived a mythic tribe—Iñukuns—that only existed in rumors and whispers. This changed forever when an actor-turned-fugitive, Teddy Kyle Smith, had an encounter that brought Iñukuns from myth to reality. Smith was an aspiring actor with a promising career until it all came quickly crashing down with a gunshot, a manhunt, bloodshed, and other frightful events.

Loved this! Wish it was longer
Revisado: 11-19-19
This was fantastic. I liked everything about it. The first hand interviews. The experiences. The music. The author/narrator was perfect. This was so much deeper than I expected at first. The individuals were real. Mr. Smith may have been in a few movies, but his story was not well known, at least to a woman in Pennsylvania. The conclusion fit the story so well, that of the native Alaskan’s. This truly was their story and we just got to eek inside. I only wished it was longer. Well done Mr. Dommek and thank you.
