Historia
In this exhilarating tale by New York Times bestselling and award-winning author Nnedi Okorafor, a disabled Nigerian American woman pens a wildly successful Sci-Fi novel, but as her fame rises, she loses control of the narrative—a surprisingly cutting, yet heartfelt drama about art and love, identity and connection, and, ultimately, what makes us human. This is a story unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Good in a different sort of way
Revisado: 01-27-25
It is strange to listen to two stories in one book, but there you have it. One story is hard to call science fiction at all, it reads like a "this is my life" sort of story. Nothing much usual going on in that story, though I would like to know the power source for the long run as it seemed a little out of reach of the rig, that might be science fiction. But all that is a quibble the story was well told, the author can write well and told a good tale about an unusual life. The science fiction story is good, not as good as the way it is accepted in the book but still an ok story.
The mix of the two produces a good book. Worth the read.

OK but simplistic and predictable.
Revisado: 09-02-24
An OK listen. Good speaker with nice delivery. However the story and the characters were so stereotyped as to be completely predictable. Somewhat of a popcorn book. Tasty and fluffy but no real content. No, I will not be coming back for more.

Historia
It is one of the most well-known and well-loved fantasy epics of the twentieth century: the story of Elric, emperor of the dying kingdom of Melniboné. For a hundred centuries the Melnibonéans have ruled from the Dragon Isle of Imrryr. Now, after years of corruption and decadence, Elric’s amoral cousin Prince Yyrkoon, the brother of his beloved Cymoril, sets his eyes on the Ruby Throne. Elric must face his treacherous cousin not as a warrior but as a sorcerer king once again in league with the ancient gods of Melniboné, the Chaos Lords, and thus sealing his inexorable fate.

For me amazing, I stopped reading it.
Revisado: 06-18-24
Mr. Gaiman is without a doubt one of my very favorite authors. Normally I adore his work and yet with this piece I flat stopped reading it and will not finish it ever.
Why?
I will not say so much as to tip the story but those who have read it should be able to follow. When I have the main character making the same mistake of trust and forgiveness for the third time to again surely lead them and their loved one into more terrible things I must believe this character is a complete walking moron without one lick of even the most based metal ability. I do not care to read stories of fools stumbling along making the most obvious of bad decisions no matter how necessary to the story, stupid is not a favorite of mine.
I closed the book and will not reopen it.

Historia
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?

Like junk food, somewhat tasty but nothing really
Revisado: 08-19-21
Pretty easy to guess plot. Pretty standard story line. Some contradictions within the story but some what minor. Characters shallow and simple, cut from standard cloth with the standard pattern. If you want a simple little guy against all odds story this is it one, but expect no more than that.

Critically acclaimed author Alastair Reynolds holds a well-deserved place “among the leaders of the hard-science space opera renaissance." ( Publishers Weekly). In Blue Remembered Earth, Geoffrey Akinya wants nothing more than to study the elephants of the Amboseli basin. But when his space-explorer grandmother dies, secrets come to light and Geoffrey is dispatched to the Moon to protect the family name - and prevent an impending catastrophe.

Not good, not worth it.
Revisado: 04-06-20
Shallow plot. Junk recording.
Superficial bragging as the author talked his super hero alter ego around the room. Predicable, no depth, basic space guy with big gun and some girl involved. Capable of winning every fight all the time. Bla Bla Bla.
Not worth it.
Hey author! Buy some recording gear that makes it so that you do not sound like you are sitting in a hard linoleum room. Even the sound quality was poor.
