Virtual Voice ruined it
Revisado: 07-31-24
The story seems like it would be excellent, but virtual voice is awful. It accentuates incorrectly & is impersonal, too robotic-like

Narrator’s audible breaths ruined it
Revisado: 07-31-24
The narrator took audible breaths before most sentences. I couldn’t stand it so I had to delete this book

Historia
Alex Armstrong has changed everything about herself—her name, her appearance, her backstory. She’s no longer the terrified teenager a rapt audience saw on television, emerging in handcuffs from the quiet suburban home the night her family was massacred. That girl, Alexandra Quinlan, nicknamed Empty Eyes, was accused of the killings, fought to clear her name, and later took the stand during her highly publicized defamation lawsuit that captured the attention of the nation. It’s been ten years since, and Alex hasn’t stopped searching for answers about the night her family was killed.

Overly dramatic
Revisado: 04-13-24
This story includes a nonsensical dramatic plot and amateur character development. The main characters are nauseously soap opera-like.

Historia
When Anna Hartley’s husband, Henry, calls her with a terrible, guilty confession, she can’t believe what she hears. It has to be a bad joke—the mild, predictable artist she married would never hurt a fly, let alone commit murder. But her confusion turns to horror when police find his body washed up on the banks of the Rio Grande.

Historia
John Milton has started to hope that he might have a future. He has a job driving a taxi around the streets of San Francisco. He has his anonymity and his solitude. Being invisible has become a comfortable habit. He doesn't want to be found. But when a girl he drives to a party goes missing, Milton is worried. Especially when two dead bodies are discovered, and the police start treating him as their prime suspect. Milton is a fugitive from the British Secret Service, and a man in his position needs extra attention like he needs a hole in the head.

It’s unbelievable to me that narrator David Thorpe is the source of all characters in this book - he’s an absolute Samurai, the master’s class dean, the Don.

Earned Top 3 of my Favorite Authors & Narrators!
Revisado: 12-01-23
I was engrossed in all three books from beginning to end! The only thing I’m disappointed about is that there aren’t more for me to binge yet. I’m definitely going to follow Mark Dawson, and hope he writes more of the series moving forward. Simon Vance is a Master Narrator. I could listen to him morning until night. Congratulations to both of you for creating a fantastic mystery series
