the author and the narrator were amazing!
Revisado: 02-24-24
I just loved that the protagonist was a sassy, bit overweight, unsure of herself kind of gal, but because of life's circumstances, and life beating her up a little bit, she began to not care what people think and eventually lived her life to the fullest. Then she found an amazing man to share her life with! 😘 The narrator was perfect! Thank you for a great read!

Historia
As a young bride, Susannah Page was rumored to be a Civil War spy for the North, a traitor to her Virginian roots. Her great-granddaughter Adelaide, the current matriarch of Holly Oak, doesn’t believe that Susannah’s ghost haunts the antebellum mansion looking for a pardon, but rather the house itself bears a grudge toward its tragic past.

Incredible storyline, perfect narration!
Revisado: 01-14-22
Living in the home of your new husband's dead wife? Um, no thank you! This story had two parts, the contemporary part and the other part where the author reached back into history through these old letters to tell us the backstory of the house and those who used to live there. The book has something for everyone; mystery, quirky characters, humor, great storyline! Susan Meissner does not disappoint. Susan Denaker did such an amazing job narrating young voices, but also especially the elderly ladies' voices, Bravo! Enjoy! 😊

Revisado: 05-31-20
Loved it! there were several storylines going on at the same time, lots of real life tough stuff that the characters had to deal with. This is not your mother's Hallmark Movie, I promise you! Out of all the characters in the book, I guarantee you will relate to one or more of them on a very personal level. The narrator (which makes all the difference to me, because I am a audiobook narrator myself) made all the difference; she was perfect. I just now bought the second in the series, and I will be pushing the play button any minute now. get your hands on this audiobook and don't stop until you reach the end. 😊👍

Here is a soul-stirring story of two college friends who reconnect after 20 years. One is living life apart from God, in comfortable corporate America; the other is living for Christ under intense persecution in China. This challenging book will convince readers to live in the light of eternity.

Revisado: 03-13-19
The story is timeless. Yes, the persecution of Christians still goes on, not only in China where this book is set, but also in America.. :-( Walk closely with the Lord, and don't be ashamed! Great narrator, music and special effects! :-) This was my third time listening to this book. Enjoy!

Pretty Good
Revisado: 09-15-18
Not her best, in my opinion. Unlike The Silver Suitcase (which I've read twice now!🙂 ) there was only one story line. I kept waiting for something bigger than a lost locket to happen. I did not care for the narrator at all, she really struggled to keep that Irish accent; it felt forced. It was a beautiful story of forgiveness and acceptance, though. I can always expect an excellent, God filled, Christ-centered book from Terrie Todd. Lovely story; thank you, Mrs. Todd. 😊

Great Treasure Adventure!
Revisado: 07-03-17
This is not a book I typically would read, but I loved treasure hunting books as a kid, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed! Not only was it a great Indiana Jones type of story, there was not one F-bomb or sex scene. Very well written, and the narrator is amazing!
