Historia
Once again Michael Crichton gives us his trademark combination of page-turning suspense, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary research. State of Fear is a superb blend of edge-of-your-seat suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world.

Dreadful
Revisado: 03-30-08
I have been an Audible subscriber for years and This is the worst book that I have purchased. This plot is ridiculous and so far fetched that I ended up yelling at my cd player.
And Michael Chrichton's reactionary environmental views are on a par with those of the fault Earth Society. I can believe that someone agreed to produce this dreck.

Historia
How did a deadly genetic disease help our ancestors survive the bubonic plagues of Europe? Was diabetes evolution's response to the last Ice Age? Will a visit to the tanning salon help bring down your cholesterol? Why do we age? Why are some people immune to HIV? Can your genes be turned on or off? Survival of the Sickest reveals the answers to these and many other questions as it unravels the amazing connections between evolution, disease, and human health today.

Amazing!

This book is not a rehashing of stale info. It takes an amazingly incitful view of some fundamental issues. The narration is great and the presentation is understandable even to laymen. I highly recommend it.

Historia
Eating is about more than satisfying our hunger. It's also about the environment, social justice, personal development, and sustainable living. Many Americans already know this. We're eating less red meat and more organically produced foods, and most restaurants offer vegetarian options. But do we really know the truth about mechanized animal farming and slaughterhouses, herbicide and pesticide use, and labels that promise "Certified Humane"?

huge eye opener
Revisado: 07-01-07
This is a very interesting book. The authors turn the light on the dark side of food production. They are very descriptive and not preachy. The stories of tainted food that have been constantly in the news lately make this book even more timely.

This book is peerless at explaining things. If you are a person like me who craves understanding the reasons behind things, you will love this book. The narrator is great and the content keeps you on the edge of your seat.
