Excellently wrote. Even though the characters were made fictional, this really happened. In some places it is still happening. The audacity of the government to take advantage of people this way. I loved the reality of looking at life through 2 sets of eyes. I loved that the family kept going no matter what. They got their foothold and moved on to better. I will say it was a story of The have and the have nots. Sometimes in real life we like Civil try to make it better to only find out that it gets worst. Story was a great testimony of strength, courage, sacrifice, love and determination. Please buy it. I am going to listen to it again. It is 52 chapters of adventure into the world through the eyes of those with and those without, whether its money, education, or self esteem. Sometimes you stand alone but, like Civil you got to keep on pushing.

Not typical
Revisado: 04-03-21
Not realistic. Book had highs and lows. Flighty. Decisions made by mom left you with something to think about. Not as good as her other books. Didn’t like the ending. Too much left in open. No closure.

Revisado: 03-02-21
This book tells the story of a young girl that gets pregnant and must give up her 1st born, a son, for adoption. She holds him in the hospital and then is forced by her mother, to give him up. Almost 40 yrs. later, and after 3 marriages or more and other children, her son hires someone to find his birth mom. She is very receptive to the invitation to meet with him. She and his new family bond together. Their is a hint of mixed emotions as the adopted mom shares moments and milestones of the sons’ life. The book reminds you that if you love someone you set them free and if it’s yours it will return. A good read.

True That
Revisado: 03-02-21
This book kept me entertained. Depicts everyday life, and how the decisions we make today will affect us tomorrow. Mistakes and trials make you strong. It reminds us that whatever is done in the dark will come to light. Q The main character and the estranged husband were funny. They were always fighting with each other. No matter what went on they had each others BACK. The book reminded us our actions are our actions. Stop blaming everyone else, esp the devil for your short fall. The book describes a split family, with problems, past and possibilities. This family comes together with many secrets, but they are bonded by one thing, their love for God.

Just Do It
Revisado: 12-16-20
Don't hesitate to buy. It was a free selection for me from the audible plus catalog. Book flowed well. Story line on time. You saw a mixture of old and new. The grandson ushered in new technology. Even with new technology the end results is still the same. Justice. It showed the decisions that we make and the cost we pay. The book shows what happens if you die too soon or live too long. Loved it.

Revisado: 10-25-20
Back in the court Jake Brignac. I love that he never gives up. Always prevails through the storm. He is for the underdog. I love how he has the opportunity to go after the big bucks but never forgets those of Clanton. Great courtroom presentation. Wife is supportive. Lucien is Lucien. Love the new addition to the family. Can’t wait for next adventure in Jakes’ life as a lawyer. Get the book.

Good Read
Revisado: 06-09-18
It held my attention. Must listen carefully because sometimes the scene has changed and you are not aware. However, it keeps your attention. I would like to know what happens to the main characters. Do they get married? I thought that the house with the marble etc was a little strange, it was as if he built the house for her after she died and made it a shrine. The flowers and tape recorders shows how much one can grieve and get stuck. Overall I liked the book and will recommend.

Well wrote. I have read the 7 books before this one. The series keeps your attention. There author is clever because in each book 3 or more people are added to the sisterhood. You just can't wait to see what will happen next. Descriptive, exhilarating, attention holders. 😉.
