Historia
Born to a prominent Chicago judge and his stifled socialite wife, Mia Dennett moves against the grain as a young inner-city art teacher. One night, Mia enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend. But when he doesn't show, she unwisely leaves with an enigmatic stranger. With his smooth moves and modest wit, Colin Thatcher seems at first like a safe one-night stand. But following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia's life.

Good story, but performance was uggh
Revisado: 03-04-24
The story was interesting and a great last minute twist! The readers however, left a lot to be desired. Their voices were quite annoying and distracted from the story. I do recommend it tho

Historia
Detective Clements knows that people disappear all the time—far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run toward and others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds. Their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the detective believes they might be.

I actually really enjoyed this book, everything except the very ending. It really disappointed. The story and narration were great. Just wish it had a different ending.

Historia
The Roses met at an auction on Cape Cod. Oliver had just bought a Staffordshire figurine-one of a pair-but Barbara outbid him for its mate. The figurines belonged together, and so did the Roses. Now the two objets d'art sat together on a shelf in the Roses' home-symbols of the passion their owners shared. A passion that united them and now was about to tear them apart.

Movie is Way better!
Revisado: 11-18-23
This is one of those very rare instances when the movie is better than the book. Idk who turned this book into that fantastic movie, but they were a genius. Because the book is not so great.
The performance was great, but that’s about the only nice thing I can say.

Historia
Annabel, Esther, Tanya, and Chloe are best friends—or were, as children. Despite drifting apart in adulthood, shared secrets have kept them bonded for better or worse, even as their childhood dreams haven’t quite turned out as they’d hoped. Then one day they receive a wholly unexpected—but not entirely unwelcome—invitation from another old friend. Poppy Greer has invited them all to her extravagant bachelorette party: a first-class plane ticket to three days of white sand, cocktails, and relaxation on a luxe private island in the Bahamas.

Best book I’ve listened to in forever!
Revisado: 11-01-23
I Loved this book!! So rarely do I find a book that I am anxious to get to the end to know what happened, yet dread for it to ever end because I am enjoying it so darn much! This is definitely one of those.
Not that it is perfect…I wanted to choke Poppy for being so gullible several times, but it wasn’t so much that it ruined the story like it does in some books (for me, anyway).
I really liked how Sian Gilbert told the story going back and forth from Poppy’s teenage years to the current days friends’s storytelling. But it was Poppy’s first chapter that hooked me and sunk me into the story.
The narrators were really great, as well. There was only one that kinda grated on my nerves a bit (Chloe).
I hadn’t gotten halfway through before I started looking for more books by this author. I was so disappointed to discover this is her only one so far! I can’t wait to read more from her in the future!! Highly recommend 😃

Historia
Growing up, Jane and Marnie shared everything. They knew the other's deepest secrets. They wouldn't have had it any other way. But when Marnie falls in love, things begin to change. Because Jane has a secret: She loathes Marnie's wealthy, priggish husband. So, when Marnie asks if she likes him, Jane tells her first lie. After all, even best friends keep some things to themselves. If she had been honest, then perhaps her best friend's husband might still be alive today.... For, of course, it's not the last lie. In fact, it's only the beginning....

Worst Audible book I’ve had…beyond tedious
Revisado: 07-12-23
This is By Far The Worst book I’ve listened to or read. I never quit a book, but had I known this one was going to continue as it did, I absolutely would have made it my first! I’ve never left a bad review, so I want to say something nice…If it had been condensed to about a third of how long it was, it would have been okay. Sorry, but it was just not good :(

Disappointed
Revisado: 01-24-19
Had so looked forward to this, but was very disappointed. I couldn't get past the narrator. Just, no. (And, yes, I listened to the whole thing!)
I waited to watch the show, since the book is (almost) always better. Am hoping the show is great.

Love!
Revisado: 12-29-18
I have watched the series several times and it made me want to read the book. However, I didn't have time to read so got it thru Audible. It was Wonderful....even though I watched the series, this painted a whole new 'movie' in my head, just like a book does. I am sure I will listen to it many more times. Margaret Atwood is one of my newest favorite authors and I will be looking for more Audibles read by Sarah Godon.
