These Are Real People!!!
Revisado: 03-07-25
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!! Every character, every situation, every challenge, every victory felt like something I have experienced myself or experienced through my friends. I loved the highlight on how depression is real and how therapy is necessary. I can’t wait to discuss with my book club, Girlfriends on the Same Line!!!

Historia
When crime reporter Jordan Manning leaves her hometown in Texas to take a job at a television station in Chicago, she’s one step closer to her dream: a coveted anchor chair on a national network. Jordan is smart and aggressive, with unabashed star-power, and often the only woman of color in the newsroom. Her signature? Arriving first on the scene—in impractical designer stilettos. Armed with a master’s degree in forensic science and impeccable instincts, Jordan has been able to balance her dueling motivations: breaking every big story—and giving a voice to the voiceless.

Historia
Life can be cruel. Sometimes it's hard to play with the cards you've been dealt. Growing up in the ghetto can be hell; good or bad, everybody has a story. Toni is young and sexy, but her life story is limited with her mother's drug addiction and her older brother, Sheek, doing life in prison. She struggles day by day, stripping and sometimes doing more in underground clubs to support herself and her family. Toni eventually befriends a rich pretty boy from Long Island, whose life was sheltered from poverty since the day he was born.

Not my style
Revisado: 06-26-23
I did not like this book. I held on because I wanted to know what became of the characters but Even the end result Was just sad. On top of all of that, I did not like the way the narrator made the book Sound like I was watching an episode of snapped. It was frustrating! The writing was not bad, but this is just not my type of book.

The Narrator!!!
Revisado: 03-07-23
This review may be a bit unfair. I started this book but I simply could not complete it because the narrator was so awful. The reading of the book was robotic and unbelievable and I just could not take it another second.

Average
Revisado: 09-22-22
This book was okay it just seemed to be a little bit average. It was just short of not being boring. For me as an avid reader it was predictable and somewhat cheesy.
