Finished the series! I liked it, didn’t LOVE but strongly liked. I feel like it would make a great two part movie.

The Manipulator. I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me. I will make you hurt, make you cry, make you laugh and sigh. But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave. He's always there, watching and waiting. And I can never look away. Not when I want him to come closer. The Shadow. I didn't mean to fall in love. But now that I have, I can't stay away. I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves. I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine. And once she is, I'll never let her go.

Horrible.
Revisado: 12-04-23
If you like books like this I think you need to ask yourself if you need therapy. I cringed so many times I couldn’t even finish it. Between the constant cussing and the sex scenes, I had second hand embarrassment. There’s no real plot, and anything that has to do with child rape, is a no go for me. I mean this man murdered people, stalks people, rapes people. But yet let’s make him a savior because he has a heart to save sex trafficked minors? Makes zero sense. This writer is clearly deranged. Waste of a credit. Feels very evil.

Revisado: 02-27-23
So far of this series this one was my favorite. I’d love to see it as a miniseries. Still wish there was less sex lol. It’s so cringe. But it was the best one, I really liked the male lead! And the fact that he was a father.

So good!
Revisado: 02-21-23
I’m getting a little confused on the sequence of these books but other than that this is my send one to read. And this one was far better than the other one I read. Definitely going to keep listening to them but it will probably be out of order. I do with that they would use a woman for the female voices though, that would have made it perfect.

Historia
Adam Binder has lost what matters most to him. Having finally learned the true identity of the warlock preying on his family, what was supposed to be a final confrontation with the fiend instead became a trap that sent Adam’s beloved Vicente into the realm of the dead, where none living are meant to be. Bound by debt, oath, and love, Adam blazes his own trail into the underworld to get Vicente back, and to end the threat of the warlock once and for all. But the road to hell is paved with far more than good intentions.

Best series in a while
Revisado: 01-06-23
Some of the content may not be what I’m used to or I may even like some books more. But this series you can tell was written so creatively, by an excellent writer who’s obviously intelligent. It’ll be one of my favorites, of course. Once I got past the listening to a guy make out with another guy all the time part 😆 so if that bothers you maybe skip this series. I found myself sad when it was over though. I’d love to see it made into a tv series, but they’re usually never done right.

Historia
After a tornado rips through her town, store owner Abigail comes across a piece of fabric from a wedding dress among the devastation. Abigail is moved to start collecting other swatches of fabric she finds - her neighbor’s kitchen curtains, a man’s necktie, a dog’s bed - which she stashes in shopping bags. As she pursues her seemingly absurd quest, horrible realities spark the question, “What kind of a God would allow such tragedy?”

The way this begins had me hooked and that’s stung a lot. The narrator is the best I’ve heard. It has a good message, no cringy sex scenes…I’m a quilter so I loved it. Plus I love storms.

It’s not my absolute favorite series but I did enjoy it, I hope they do Peter’s story next. With each book, it got better. Some stories I hate to see end so badly, but this was just enjoyable. And it helps the men are hot. 😆

I cannot believe they left this cliffhanger.
Revisado: 07-10-22
I have listened to all what 5? Of the books and they’re like 9 hours long. How can she let us get obsessed with the characters and story, to end it like this? Or lack there of. Most of the books have a “closure” aspect to them. But this one came to the climax, and BOOM ended. So many unanswered questions and it’s clear she meant to write the final book about the last family member. But never did and that was in 2013 and now it’s 2022 and she never did fantasy again, but some contemporary walls street romances? No offense but I feel like this is so wrong to all the fans of this series. I read the reviews before I read this one and they said she never wrote the final book, and they were disappointed, but this was so much worse than just not writing the final book. We never even found out who the villain was?! So odd and I was very upset when it went off so unexpectedly. This is still one of my favorite book series ever but idk how I can refer it to people after this.
