The author clearly has a tortured mind and heart after what he went through. Who wouldn’t? The story was not as well written or organized as Night or Dawn. Still worth a listen, but Night is the real star of the trilogy.

Dave Ramsey with Kindness

All the same principles that Dave Ramsey teaches without the “all or nothing, cut up your credit card or else, in your face” approach that Dave is known for. Bola is knowledgeable, realistic, thorough, and kind, with the same goal to help people get out of debt, have financial freedom, and build wealth. I also appreciate her female perspective including some tips on how to negotiate a salary (from a female’s mindset). Great finance book.

This story is perfect for every dog lover, or person who believes in life after death. I loved how the author created such beautiful personalities for the dogs and a hope that our loved ones souls will live on.

This story gave me new perspective on some of the challenges that immigrants faced in the United States. The author has excellent character development, and was good at portraying the perspective of many different characters. The voice of the reader was pleasant and enjoyable, to listen to.

This was what I needed. Going through major transitions in my life and also struggling with mental health issues has left me struggling. This book gave me a great biblical perspective and realistic approaches to dealing with the very real struggles in my life. The author says at the beginning that the changes wouldn’t be easy, and I had to take breaks from listening at times because I was so convicted/challenged/called out by this book. Excellent listen, and I’ll likely listen again.

I love Jodi Picoult. I’ve listened to and/or read most of her books and enjoyed them all. This one was enjoyable as well, but definitely not one of her most developed and deep story lines. I got dis-interested at points, but it was still worth the listen.

A detailed and eye opening look into an addict’s mind and struggles. I was intrigued by the progression of Lisa’s addiction and her road to recovery. Very well written.

I was expecting a deep dive into the history and cultural implications of masculinity, and instead it was Kate’s life story and liberal agenda manifesto. It was still interesting, funny at times, but fell short of my expectations. She read it well, but the interviews came across as a podcast instead of a book. It wasn’t a waste of my time, but I wouldn’t recommend.
