ChatGPT is going to forever change how we use the internet. We currently live in a world where businesses are paying hundreds of dollars to people for writing engaging articles and blogs, and thousands of dollars per month for social media marketing and SEO. Now, using ChatGPT, anyone (including you) can do this really well—even if you have no experience in this!

Listen to only if you have zero knowledge about ChatGPT
Revisado: 05-18-23
Pretty basic overview of ChatGPT with a great deal written by ChatGPT itself as it’s just a long list of jobs that could be replaced and/or be augmented with CatGPT. The list even repeats a number of jobs like it’s providing filler to stretch the book out. I guess if the author makes a million dollars off this book then the title is true, but it’s unlikely you will.

Historia
Ritual is one of the oldest, and certainly most enigmatic, threads in the history of human culture. It presents a profound paradox: people ascribe the utmost importance to their rituals, but few can explain why they are so important. Apparently pointless ceremonies pervade every documented society, from handshakes to hexes, hazings to parades. Before we ever learned to farm, we were gathering in giant stone temples to perform elaborate rites and ceremonies. Dimitris Xygalatas leads us on an enlightening tour through this shadowy realm of human behavior.

Somewhat repetitive, and dry
Revisado: 12-24-22
Didn’t care for this book. How many times does one have to listen about fire-walking? Mostly starting the obvious about team/community building with rituals using the placebo effect. Surely there are more stories about rituals performed for forgotten valuable lessons that may even be life-saving.
Don’t take a deep dive into this book or you may hit your head on the shallow end. I was attracted to buying this book because I heard the author on a podcast. You don’t really need more than that interview.

In this poignant memoir of personal transformation, Jill Soloway takes us on a patriarchy-toppling emotional and professional journey. When Jill’s parent came out as transgender, Jill pushed through the male-dominated landscape of Hollywood to create the groundbreaking and award-winning Amazon TV series Transparent. Exploring identity, love, sexuality, and the blurring of boundaries through the dynamics of a complicated and profoundly resonant American family, Transparent gave birth to a new cultural consciousness.

Have loved Soloway’s voice over the years in writings, and film. May the destination be far off in the distance so we can continue the ride.

The Earth teems with sights and textures, sounds and vibrations, smells and tastes, electric and magnetic fields. But every kind of animal, including humans, is enclosed within its own unique sensory bubble, perceiving but a tiny sliver of our immense world. In An Immense World, Ed Yong coaxes us beyond the confines of our own senses, allowing us to perceive the skeins of scent, waves of electromagnetism, and pulses of pressure that surround us.

If you’ve never read about the wonder of animal sensory capabilities this is for you
Revisado: 06-27-22
If you’re a complete newbie to the wonderful sensory capabilities animals have compared to humans then this book should fill you with awe. If you already know dogs have a keen sense of smell, birds can sense the Earth’s magnetic fields for direction, and that beasts like dolphins and bats use echolocation/sonar then this book if mostly a rehash of much of what you already know. Because the book was mostly a rehash to me I was bored by it, with just a few things of new interest to me.

Historia
Zachary Quinto - best known for his role as the Nimoy-approved Spock in the recent Star Trek reboot and the menacing, power-stealing serial killer, Sylar, in Heroes - brings his well-earned sci-fi credentials and simmering intensity to this audio-exclusive novella from master storyteller John Scalzi. One day, not long from now, it becomes almost impossible to murder anyone - 999 times out of a thousand, anyone who is intentionally killed comes back. How? We don't know.

Enjoyable book but you have to suspend disbelief
Revisado: 05-14-19
Enjoyed this book but I had to suspend my disbelief a couple of times to enjoy it. It never explained why folks came back to life after being murdered, no explanation for that. Doesn't appear to be an almighty power thing as the protagonist doesn't really believe in God. So I had to just settle with not knowing the backstory on the resurrections
The other thing was when Langdon got a hotdog from a Chicago Hot Dog vendor and it was served-up with Jalapeno Peppers. What the what? Do they they not have Sport Peppers in the future? Or maybe that's why Langdon pulled all the Jalapenos off her hot dog because they were the wrong kind of peppers.

Historia
Before Liz Lemon, before Weekend Update, before Sarah Palin, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: A recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey's story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on Saturday Night Live. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we've always suspected: You're no one until someone calls you bossy.

Fey is great, knocked off some stars b/c editing
Revisado: 06-03-12
Tina Fey is witty and it's great to hear her voice doing the reading. The book is partly aimed at what it's like to be a woman working through a male dominated profession which was great to shed some light on. Overally a great story.
I had to knock a few stars off due to some production issues with this audiobook. There are several times when Fey whispers subtext to something she says and it's too soft. I know this is for effect but it's much too soft and I had to keep rewinding and pushing the volume way up since I listen over a car stereo and not earbuds.
The other editing problem that got past editors is when Fey does her reading she sometimes repeats what she says for a slightly different form of emphasis. This is common when doing any kind of spoken text but the editor is supposed to delete the extra phrases as she's saying the same thing. I believe I heard this happening at least three times during the audiobook.
One last minor thing about the editing is the pacing of the no-audio gaps between what Fey is reading. The audio system clamps down the audio gain which normally wouldn't be noticeable but the gaps are too long so it becomes very noticeable.
Seems like the production of this audiobook was rushed due to these production gaffes. But still a great listen.

Halfway through, great so far, hint on narration
Revisado: 11-06-11
I've listened halfway though and so far it's been a great novel, brings back a lot of memories. I'll admit that Wheaton's narration is plodding but there's a solution. I hit the 2x speed button on my iPhone and it improved the narration 100 percent. Not kidding, can't even go back to normal speed which seems so slow.
So do yourself a favor on this one, put it in hyperdrive.
