Historia
Aspiring musician Ruby Tucker has had enough of her small rural town and dysfunctional family. But a falling out with her best friend and bandmate has killed her dreams of escaping and making it big in the Atlanta punk scene. While helping her eccentric neighbor organize his religious artifacts, an ancient ring clamps down on her finger—possessing her with the spirit of a blood-thirsty demon. There’s no exorcizing it unless hundreds of people chant a spell to set Ruby free.

Brom got the band back together!
Revisado: 03-21-25
Brom is my favorite author. he is a master of building the environment and you can sense all the elements of any of his books.
Evil In Me is no exception. it's a great journey, a tad slow at the beginning but rolls out nicely midway. Adding of having The Maxine's writing an EP to go along with the book is brilliant. Itreally adds to the listening experience.

Trauma as a crutch
Revisado: 05-25-22
The beginning of this book was great! It opened my eyes with several things within my life. However, the author drilled childhood trauma so much that it felt like a crutch. The author seemed to blame trauma for her adult reactions so much that I started feeling bored with the last 4 chapters. Eat the meat and leave the bones.

Historia
One Christmas Eve in a small hollow in Boone County, West Virginia, struggling songwriter Jesse Walker witnesses a strange spectacle: seven devilish figures chasing a man in a red suit toward a sleigh and eight reindeer. When the reindeer leap skyward, taking the sleigh, devil men, and Santa into the clouds, screams follow. Moments later, a large sack plummets back to earth, a magical sack that thrusts the down-on-his-luck singer into the clutches of the terrifying Yule Lord, Krampus.

Brom is the best!
Revisado: 01-19-21
One thing I love about Brom's writing is the amount of detail he puts into it. You can feel the emotion, smell the scene, and see it clearly in your mind. Krampus had such a unique twist on the traditional story of him. He is a lovable character that frightens you due to his ignorance of the modern world.

Historia
In the highly anticipated finale to the New York Times best-selling trilogy, dictators, prophets, and tensions rise. In a world that’s conquered death, will humanity finally be torn asunder by the immortal beings it created? Citra and Rowan have disappeared. Endura is gone. It seems like nothing stands between Scythe Goddard and absolute dominion over the world scythedom. With the silence of the Thunderhead and the reverberations of the Great Resonance still shaking the earth to its core, the question remains: Is there anyone left who can stop him?

I'm a little frustrated
Revisado: 11-30-20
I love this series but The Toll was the weakest of the three. I had a hard time keeping up with all the characters. It seemed that the story was introducing someone new every chapter. The ending didn't bring me closure.

A little quirky and fun!
Revisado: 11-30-20
The approach is different than a lot of podcasts. The main question really makes one think and makes it so that I can question my friends on the same topic.

What I enjoyed is that many of the stories I've heard for a couple decades. This family is well documented so it's easy to find the resource material if you disagree.

Historia
With the failure of Hadley's Hope, Weyland-Yutani has suffered a devastating setback - the loss of the Aliens they aggressively sought to exploit. Yet there's a reason the Company has risen to the top of the food chain. True to form, they have a redundancy already in place: the facility known as "The Cold Forge". Remote station RB-232 has become their greatest asset in weaponizing the Xenomorphs. However, when Dorian Sudler is sent to RB-232 to assess their progress, he discovers that there's a spy aboard - someone who doesn't necessarily act in the company's best interests.

It was good, not great. It got predictable.
Revisado: 01-25-19
First off, whoever edited the story should have fact checked some things. Yeah, a sci-fi book needed some fact checking.
In the story one of the scientists was Lucy Biltmore. Another character asks if she is one of the "Big Estate" Biltmore's in NC. He is referring to Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. Biltmore is not the family's last name. It's Vanderbilt. George Vanderbilt named his estate Biltmore derived from "Bildt", Vanderbilt's ancestors' place of origin in Holland, and "More", Anglo-Saxon for open, rolling land. A portion of the estate was once the community of Shiloh.
Also, the word Appalachian is pronounced wrong.
As far as the rest of the story - It's typical. Xenomorphs are studied, someone lets them out, and the ship/station/planet is thrown into chaos. A lot was predictable and I nodded off a few times. Sadly, I was able to pop right back in without having to repeat a chapter.
Michael Braun does a great job reading. His voice is top notch.

This is a leadership book.
Revisado: 05-30-18
I found it funny that people think it is a book that bashes Trump. That tells me that they didn't read the book. This is a book about leaders, good and bad. How we learn from them, how they teach us to be better leaders.
Comey opens up and exposes his mistakes, fears, misfortunes, and successes. It's raw at some points and brought tears to my eyes on certain events in his early life and family.
As far as the Trump stuff - It's nothing you can't find Trump saying on YouTube and Comey repeating the same story exactly the same while Trump tries to distract.
Get it, listen to, finish it in a day. It's a good driving book.
