This was an honest and revealing telling of James Taylor’s background. For some reason I had an image of him as a Southern backwoods musical genius. I’m chastened and glad to know more of his real life.

Since this a compilation of his articles and speeches, there was some repetition, and more of the curmudgeon than came across in the books. But he was brilliant, and the world feels this loss.

THis is my second Scalzi book- it was funny and fast moving- I enjoyed it enormously!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
No- I found it irritating that the author fulfilled whatever Sherlock Holmes fantasy she has by changing Holmes into a whiny, toothless character, astonished at the brilliance of her main (adolescent self) character.
I think the author writes well, but this book was a mistake.
What was most disappointing about Laurie R. King’s story?
