Beautiful and vulnerable account

I was unfortunately late to the Obama fan club, being raised in a very conservative Republican, evangelical family. Hearing her story of growing up in Chicago and eventually becoming the first African American POTUS and FLOTUS was a beautiful representation of the opposite of all I heard. I'm grateful for the work they have done and continue to do, and hope those of us who stepped outside the tent can join in the work of equality and unity of our country.

What made the experience of listening to Unafraid the most enjoyable?
Ben basically outlined my entire life's experience from growing up in a very active Christian home where our faith informed everything- to the questions that started to arise that caused me to go deeper.
What did you like best about this story?
This book gave great insight into the history of the evolution of Christianity in America and how the hijacked version I was raised with became. That was hugely helpful.
What about Patrick Lawlor’s performance did you like?
He actually reminds me of Ben himself. I've heard BJC in videos before and at first I thought it was him reading. It was very engaging.
Any additional comments?
My husband and I listened to this book on a road trip and had to keep pausing it to discuss how accurately it was describing our experience. We really feel like this would be a great handbook for someone newly shifting in their faith so that they can see that their experience is normal and that they are not alone.

Would you consider the audio edition of Bright Line Eating to be better than the print version?
I loved that Susan reads the book herself- I got to know her through her words and it helped me connect even more to her story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I have dieted my entire life and work in a field where neurological science is a large part of the work that we do so this book was a score on many levels. I was captivated from the preface.

This book paired with the BLE online community has offered me freedom in a way I never expected. I'm so thankful for this book and what it has meant for me.
