It's there, hundreds of feet below the ground, in the vaults of what was constructed as the world's largest air-raid shelter, where now people try to outlive the end of days.

A solid ending to the metro trilogy

Couldn't stop listening for the past week. Great book imo but some may disagree. Just keep in mind that it's not going to be like the previous two. I thought it really tied the series together in the end, despite not being what I expected at all.
I noticed a lot of people were uncomfortable with the sexual themes in the book. Personally I found it made the people seem more primal and disturbing. I mean what would you expect from people who live underground? Abstinence and civility?

Nothing has changed more in the last few decades than our concept and perception of reality. The effects have manifested in our news, entertainment, and Google searches; we're finding that a lot of things we thought were objective aren't automatically so. Reality is not a concept we want to flush down the toilet with yesterday's food, though. However, we must begin to understand how it works in a world where profit is the driving force.

good book

I feel as though this book has opened my eyes to a lot of the things I've only recently started questioning. In a consumer economy, people are manipulated into desiring unnecessary things. To look good in nice clothes, to own an expensive car, and fill in the blank.
What really struck me was how the author talks about the desire to always be right. This is something that I've tried cut out of my own life. I'll admit when I'm wrong. Hell I sometimes will say someone's right, just because I'd rather get along than have the satisfaction of "I'm right you're wrong." that we all seem to crave.
All the while we keep buying into the latest trends and lifestyles. To suit our desire to be "on the right side" or be part of some community, we stamp a label on our heads. Then we get sold all kinds of products and ideas that suit our so-called identity. This is consumer culture at it's best.
The book talks about a lot more than that. If you live in a consumer economy, which I assume you do, because audible is a subsidiary of the fortune 500 company Amazon, then I recommend you look into this one.

I love the lessons in this book not only about dating advise but about social psychology. general tips and tricks about reading people and getting to know them better and being honest with yourself and themselve, great book loved it!
