Many years and even more levels have passed since Jake and friends entered Nevermore. With quite a number of floors passed, they turn their attention to the Challenge Dungeons. These Challenge Dungeons offer – as the name suggests – unique challenges and circumstances, and completing them will earn each Nevermore competitor points and multipliers to their existing points. As things unfold, it quickly becomes clear it’s through these dungeons that the true top-scorer of the Nevermore Leaderboards will be found.

Seriously? This is not a book its 2 chapters maybe
Revisado: 03-09-25
This is just the most boring book I've listen too in a while. .I didn't even make it all. the way through it. Fight ..self reflection, fight, self reflection.. on and on.. no story move and nothing interesting at all unless you like fight scene after fight scene. If the last book got old, skip this one. Nothing in it at all for story line. it could have been 2 chapters and moved on but with AI these days authors are getting lazy. Extend 2 pages to 2 chapters. I wish I could return but Audible is being a pain and saying I can't .. so a waste of a credit . I'll wait on the next book to see reviews first.. Also don't be fooled by the fake reviews. Sort by date and dive in a bit. There is no way anyone should rate this a 5

The ninth floor. Nine armies, each led by rich and powerful aliens from across the galaxy. Each team has one objective: to capture and hold the castle at the very center of the battlefield. Strategy, alliances, pitched battles, and, of course, betrayal ... It all makes for great fun and even greater television. After all, none of these powerful aliens really die when they’re playing war. Except this time. This time, winner takes all. Those who fall, stay in the ground.

Same thing over and over and eve annoying at times
Revisado: 03-03-25
I loved the series up until now. This one I just could not get into. The cat gets more annoying and carl becomes more of an idiot. It's like one long fight scene with no real story to it. My guess is he started to use AI for writing to extend this book. I get the premise for the floor but it just was not interesting at all. I found myself listening and then having to go back again because it just did not hold my attention. Nothing horrible about the book . Just like watching Fast and Furious after the first 2 or 3.. why even bother. The did have a couple good plot movements for sure but this book really was only a couple hours worth of good content. Seems this is the new standard with AI helping to write books. Build in flux to extend and make a book out of a few chapters. Unfortunately I'll likely continue with the series so it will help support these poor practice. Just not many good books these days to listen to or read.

Interesting story but lots of repetitive leveling
Revisado: 02-15-25
Interesting story but this book gets old as it goes on. Not much of a story other than leveling. Hints at a story line for the future but really not much content. While I listened to the book.. it was in 1.4x and I often lost track and had to go back and skim forward.. Almost get killed.. Level up.. get new skill. Smash next monsters.. almost get killed.. get new skill .. smash new monsters easy.. rinse repeat a dozen times and you mostly have this book.

Historia
Silas is growing into the responsibilities weighing him down. Earth is struggling, but there is hope. The deals that Silas has made have brought resources and trainers to Earth. He's helped some leaders gain an understanding of what they will face. His team has continued to grow but now he finds himself facing the greatest challenge to any Forerunner, the Wild Hunt. He'll be hunted but also have to hunt other Forerunners while forging a shaky alliance with those he can't trust. Even more disturbing, it seems like there might be more than one system to choose from.

10% story 30%reflection 20%description 40%stats
Revisado: 12-20-24
Like most LitRPG books the author can't manage story well with all the stats/skill descriptions and self reflection. As stats get larger most of the book is explaining the skills and self reflection on how they could be used or how they work. What was fun during the early growth stage is not fun when main characters talks to themselves for hours about skills and review options. This starts to happen even during fights extending to ridiculous levels. Very little happens.. about 3 hours of content 5 hours of self reflection and 6 hours of stats. It's not a failure but compared to other books in the series its gone down hill a long way. Author needs to find balance .. Did he use AI? seems likely. no way someone could write pages upon pages and say really nothing.
Should you read or listen? yes I guess it moves things forward but maybe ff at times will be helpful.

Tired of warfare, Minalan embarks on a clandestine campaign to do so, assuming an alias and setting up shop in Farise as a mere Practical Adept as cover for his operation. Recruiting a cadre of talented agents to assist, he reluctantly begins the task of infiltrating and observing Farisian society.

Slow start but a good book in the end
Revisado: 10-06-24
The books started off very poorly with massive internalization and no story movement, much like the last book. I figured this would be my last book in the series. It was just too much babbling with no content, but.. the author turned it around as the book moved on. The story actually moved along and became interesting. Yes there was still too much wandering and internalization. No one needs a history lesson on every item, person, event and then others thoughts. that have no impact on the story.

Good story but a bit annoying at times
Revisado: 09-29-24
It's an interesting story but one of the main characters is a bit of an idiot. Hard to imagine someone going through what they did and still being such a moron. Minor relationship almost kills him.. yah.. after a whole world dying off. Book is still worth listening to with a bit of FF as Zack spends for ever internalizing everything, and things that don't help with story.. just lengthen it. Hope this does not cont but the first two were free.

Not a bad story but
Revisado: 09-01-24
The main story line is an interesting one, but the author is determined to write about every swing in every fight. A fight that literally took seconds.. took the author 5 min to describe. Its painful how slow some parts are and how long idiotic conversations between characters are. At one point the group was talking about leaving a dungeon area, i walked out of the room, cooked some breakfast and then came back into the living room and realized i left the book running. I figured i'd have to roll back the progress but realized that they had still not left the dungeon area and were still arguing. Thank god for FF and 1.4x reading.

Had to stop half way through book 1
Revisado: 08-30-24
The book is about a dumb, coward, ox of a person, with so many holes in the story its hard to even listen too it. I'm not sure where any good reviews come from, unless its in the hopes this MC can learn and change but as i look forward through the books, this is not the case. He can learn the ax and any other skill crazy fast but he is dumber than an ox and not in a funny way or interesting way. The whole book is about some dumb ox that sits and watches people get killed, and bumbles through life. I get the fact he comes from a small town and maybe ignorant to the ways of people and cultures but that's not how he is written. Why would any one want to listen to this? if he got smarter and more wise as the book moves on or if it was even a bit funny, but no. I had hopes the 2nd book would bring the MC to a place where i could at least see progress, but as i read reviews, he does not. Why does anyone want to listen to a story about a stupid, weak willed, coward? if this was not enough the stupidity of the story is insane.. example. here is a person who lives in the woods. Likely with an out house and no running water. He ends up in a dorm room with a bathroom and tubs.. He can figure out without issue to use the toilet and how stopper the tube turn the water to fill it, but he is too ignorant to figure out how to drain the tub? come on. example 2. His found to have skills in a small town far from the school, yet somehow the school knows he is coming and is waiting.. Ok you think great they have long distance communications. Then you find out the school didn't know how big he was, and has no cloths waiting. They didn't meet him at the gate of the city where they knew an small town person would be left. This is a half hour walk to gate of nobles area. So no description was sent of size or age. So they must think he is a regular 10 year old coming to the school? They would let a 10 year old find their way through a city from the main gate? with pick pockets and thieves? Ok you think I'm being a bit critical? Lets go back to the start of the book where his taken from his small town to a town where there is an undead invasion. As they invade, he is standing legs tied up but not hands. Some monster flys into him and nearly kills him with talons . Takes his eyes out and he doesn't even move to protect himself with the axe he is carrying. He is healed then stands there with his ax.. an ax he can cut down massive tree's, and watches another undead kill the lady who healed him.. .then continues to stand there as its about to kill him without doing anything. Not moving.. not protecting himself with ax.. nothing. Done . and returning the book.

Good bood. Well read
Revisado: 08-11-24
These are good books but, I think the author is making Hadrian far too dumb. We get he is supposed to be naive but there is naive and there is stupid, and the author has pushed him far past naive to a point its ridiculous and even makes it hard to listen to. Not even a child would do such stupid things, over and over without learning even a little bit.
Even give that stupidity, the books are worth listening too if you listened to the first novels, if not . i think these would suck.

Good Book but the Dramatized vers is sooo bad
Revisado: 08-11-24
Author needs to take this off audible. It makes me not even want to continue the series. Its just so bad i could not even get into the story.
I can't believe how bad the dramatized vers of this book is. Its not that the characters voices don't even come close to what you would expect for the people. Its not the speakers even. Although they are bad .. real bad. Its all the background noises that don't even match up with the story. Foot steps so loud sometimes that dont even sound like foot steps. . Noise and distractions so bad you don't even want to continue. Background music that sucks.. Rain in the background i thought was static of a bad copy. no wonder this is free and the regular version is not. Even free its not worth it.
