Historia
It seems like the perfect job. Great wages, accommodation provided and all located within the walls of Highwood Hall, a stunning stately home owned by the Howard family. Not many little girls dream of becoming a maid, but this is an opportunity for me to get back on my feet. And for me to revisit my past....

Historia
London, 2019. Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. With his good looks, aristocratic connections, and money, he’s never had to work, and he’s rarely slept alone. But all that changes when tragedy strikes and Maxim inherits his family’s noble title, wealth, and estates, and all the responsibility that entails. It’s a role he’s not prepared for and one that he struggles to face. But his biggest challenge is fighting his desire for an unexpected, enigmatic young woman who’s recently arrived in England, possessing little more than a dangerous and troublesome past.

Augustus Everett is an acclaimed author of literary fiction. January Andrews writes best-selling romance. When she pens a happily ever after, he kills off his entire cast. They’re polar opposites. In fact, the only thing they have in common is that for the next three months, they're living in neighboring beach houses, broke, and bogged down with writer's block.

I did not enjoy this book at all, I don’t understand how it was on the best romance books list. I don’t find it romantic nor interesting at all. I am sorry but this book was very bland to me.

I thought this series would get better, I didn't like or hate the first book, but this wasn't any better. I wanted more, more trust in each other, more magic, more suspends, etc. This book just made me sad, there is no happiness to be found in either, I'm done with the series.

Good book with horrible narration
Revisado: 01-19-21
I liked this book, but the narration was terrible, especially for the main character! Sentences sounding like questions were irritating, the weird accent, change in speed & volume were just too distracting. But, most of the other character voices were okay and I think done by the same person. I would recommend reading this book if possible, although I can not, due to optic nerve damage.

Tiffy and Leon share an apartment. Tiffy and Leon have never met. After a bad breakup, Tiffy Moore needs a place to live. Fast. And cheap. But the apartments in her budget have her wondering if astonishingly colored mold on the walls counts as art. Desperation makes her open minded, so she answers an ad for a flatshare. Leon, a night shift worker, will take the apartment during the day, and Tiffy can have it nights and weekends. He'll only ever be there when she's at the office. In fact, they'll never even have to meet.

Revisado: 01-18-21
It was good but not great, I could fall asleep for a couple hours and literally not miss a beat. I had been listening to mystery/thriller and needed something lighter to listen too, which this was. But, the narration was horrible, sound going from soft to loud in an instant was irritating. I was not in love w/the characters or even their relationship, but it did pass time.

Historia
Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can't move. She can't speak. She can't open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn't remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?
