Historia
A neurodivergent's guide to embracing your true self and finding your happily ever after. Growing up, Chloé Hayden felt like she'd crash-landed on an alien planet where nothing made sense. Eye contact? Small talk? And why are you people so touch-oriented? She moved between 10 schools in 8 years, struggling to become a person she believed society would accept, and was eventually diagnosed with autism and ADHD. When a life-changing group of allies showed her that different did not mean less, she learned to celebrate her true voice and find her happily ever after.

Wonderful book

I loved listening to this. As a mother of a two year old that was just diagnosed, this was such an eye opener. I laughed and cried while listening to this. It was beautifully written!

Historia
Written by Naoki Higashida, a very smart, very self-aware, and very charming thirteen-year-old boy with autism, The Reason I Jumpis a one-of-a-kind memoir that demonstrates how an autistic mind thinks, feels, perceives, and responds in ways few of us can imagine. Parents and family members who never thought they could get inside the head of their autistic loved one at last have a way to break through to the curious, subtle, and complex life within.

Loved this inside look
Revisado: 01-24-23
Although the story at the end was a little outside of my taste, the inside look at the mind of a 13 year old with autism is remarkable. I loved it!

You don’t need to be a psychologist or have special training. What you need to do is act fast, because one of the most consistent pieces of advice you will hear from any ASD expert is that early intervention is always best. Every parent goes through life doubting their skills. When you are parenting an ASD child, these doubts can have a significant impact on their development. But all of that can change—starting today!

Fantastic
Revisado: 01-23-23
This was my first ever audible book, and it was great. I bought the paperback version, but with life being busy, never had a chance to read it. My son is just over two years old and was diagnosed with autism before turning two. This was a great resource and a guide for ‘what to expect’ almost. I highly recommend this book for anyone with a recent autism diagnosis in their life!
