Not a self-love book for men AT ALL

The author thinks he's clever, a male feminist writing books about everything that's wrong with men and how they need to fix themselves, under the guise of an empowering self-love book.

Here I am, a man who's always respected women by default, in a world where men give women rights and protection, just to be berated and marginalized by law and society because a bunch of dead guys put restrictions on other people when they were still alive and in power. They're now gone, and everyone is equal in the first world with the exception of the previous first class citizens [white men] and here I still am, seeing all the books empowering women, telling them how hard they struggle and how strong they are for bearing it, while I, a man, go through hell just for being born a guy and not wanting to change my gender, and the only book I see in Audible for ME to be empowered and learn self-love WITH THE ENTIRE FIRST WORLD TELLING ME IM BAD BECAUSE OF WHAT I WAS BORN just tells me how bad I am, and how I need to fix myself before learning to love myself.

Male feminists [like the author] are tools. Feminism was invented to lift up women, but now they're not only our equals, they're ABOVE US and the only "good men" are only granted that label if they literally WORSHIP all women and never ever hold them accountable for ANYTHING. The only way to be a "good man" is to view all women as victims who are heros for existing as women, even though women don't experience any of the struggles men do, which are far worse than what women experience with the only exception being childbirth, and they can choose not to do that if it's too much for them.

Now that women have everything they were fighting for, feminism needs to be put to bed before men rise up and take back everything we gave to women.

The only appropriate position for EVERYONE is EGALITARIANISM.

If you can't handle there being ANY books for MEN to practice self-love without talking about everything you perceive to be wrong with them, tearing us down the way the world already does when all we want is to be told that we deserve to be loved [even if we can only love ourselves] you're part of the sexism problem and you don't deserve rights.

I want my credit back!!

This book is written exclusively for WOMEN who think they're dealing with a manipulative MAN.

At first I thought he was using male pronouns as the all-encompassing "man" referring to HUMANS the way they do in the Bible, but no, the author knows how to say "he or she" and "him or her", as he does in the book when he's making examples with parents and the like. At least once he refers to the victim not as "you" but as "she".

He's obviously just a simp writing books to get paid and laid.

Fact: Abusers who rely on things like manipulation and gaslighting are usually women.

Fact: Men are more likely to be victims of this type of abuse because everyone expects men to react a certain way and that reaction is to let women get away with everything. Most men can't fight their programming to stick up for themselves or walk out to find someone better, so they suffer in silence out of fear of being ripped apart for "belittling the experience of women by pretending he's abused even though men can only be abusers, never victims." < Direct quote from feminists

Fact: Referring to women as victims and men as abusers is TRIGGERING to MALE ABUSE VICTIMS. It reminds us that no matter what someone puts us through [or how we allowed it because of our compassionate, understanding, forgiving, and loving nature] we are ALWAYS assumed the villain, and it reminds us of everything we went through while being trivialized and gaslit into believing we were wrong when we weren't.

Almost everything that's said in the book is true, but the way Johnathan clarifies HE is the abuser and SHE is the victim is the worst possible thing he could do for a book like this. It's sexist and devastatingly harmful to male victims who got the book to help us understand our abusers and recover from the trauma of being a MAN everyone believes is bad because the woman he fell for was one of the innumerable narcissistic females of this world. I don't know ANY man who hurts women the way women hurt men, and men are told to shut up and act like men, because we're not supposed to have feelings? But when we protect our heart, women say men are heartless. We're expected to put everything out there for them to destroy us and when they do we have to "take the high road" even though doing something half as bad to women causes them to go above and beyond to lash out and punish you for not letting them have their way. I'm talking Amber Heard level vengeance. ALL women have that in them, and most men are just deer in the headlights.

Fix your internalized misandry, and the next time you want to write a book for women, ADVERTISE PROPERLY so men don't waste a credit on your "Women good men bad" rubbish.

Also, the narration was terrible. It wasn't read slow enough, but instead of doing it over, they just tinkered with the audio to speed it up. It sounds really bad and the words slur really bad, making the speaker sound drunk. Should've been re-recorded with better pronunciation. Lazy.

Neither the author nor the narrator should've gotten paid for this.

I wasted a credit thinking I found a book to potentially bring me closer to the sacred realm of nature. All I got was a narrative about how connecting to nature equals connecting to humans which equals extreme social justice. You completely lost my patience when you justified the BLM riots. That was nothing less than an act of terrorism, and the author says that's just what you do what you care. Deplorable. I was so ready to vibe with this book and narrator.

Great book, TERRIBLE NARRATOR

The book is informative, thorough, and well-written about something that highly interests me. Exactly what I was wanting when I spent my monthly credit on it.

That being said, I do not appreciate listening to the book with a narrator that thinks he's narrating a script for a child's fantasy. His voice goes up and down like the Heretic in the Dark Crystal series or Nimbly from Neverending Story 2. Like a nearly-scary character using a silly voice to let the child audience know they're not a bad character.

This book is about real beliefs and practices. This narrator pretty much invalidates the whole book by using a voice that's not just playful, but so comically whimsical it's obvious he doesn't believe a word of it, and that's exactly what a narrator is NOT supposed to do. We should be able to get the vibe the author intended when writing it, and I know this wasn't written to be a fictional children's book.

Idk who chooses the voices for these books when they're not narrated by the author themselves, but this was a big miss. Put this guy in the right genre and keep him out of metaphysics.

I can't even make it to the end of the book because i cant receive anything with his voice bouncing around like Tigger. I have to go spend more money to buy it just to get what I can from it even though I have trouble with reading comprehension, which is the whole reason I pay for Audible even when money is tight.

This app is for people like me, and this narrator just wasted the credit I paid for.
