Alternate storylines a drag

Probably would’ve been more fun to consolidate this book with the last and leave out some of the alternate storylines that were really a drag. No real progression tier-wise in this book. I think some additional progression would be good.

Perfect ending to a great story. In the middle of book 2 I wondered where he was going with it, but it wrapped up nicely.

Probably my favorite series in the Litrpg space at this time. The author has a way with words and the narrator brings it to life in a way that makes you ache and cheer for each of the characters.

Beautiful. Blown Away. Are you Kidding me?

I've listened to all 5 of these books in the past 6 weeks and I'm honestly blown away. The author and I may have some differences of opinion on masculinity, religion, forms of government, feminism, American pitfalls, and so on. But, I can't help but admire the tapestry that's been woven here.

Ironically, going back I could have definitely seen myself quit these series after the first few hours. I'm glad I gave it a chance.

I've laughed out loud and been brought to tears. Not many authors have done that and I've read a ton of books in this genre. This series is definitely in my top 5.

And while I was initially annoyed by some of the wide story arcs, I've now learned to love an ant species and all of its witty developing characters, a misunderstood Necromancer, a blind emperor, a cranky old dragon, a bratty princess, a murdering skeleton, a questionable goblin, a field doctor, a team of blossoming adventurers, and even the very Dolores Umbridge-Esque Magnolia Reinhart.

And if you haven't gone through all of book 5 don't worry, you'll get plenty of story progression at the end. Perhaps, some of the best that's been written in the series.

Lastly, I must mention the narrator here who has certainly done her part to give life to this entire series. WOW. Bravo. Bravo.

Something changed. This book felt more like a world building journal than a story.

Really disappointed. This book felt like mostly leveling up and less adventure. I don't feel like we need to know the exact exp from every brain drain and enemy.

I struggled the first few minutes of this book as it felt a bit kiddish for me personally. by the end if it 8 couldnt get enough.
