Good story, but bland, unlikable characters
Revisado: 11-12-21
The mystery was great. It’s what kept me from not putting down the book. But the characters need some work. They were bland. Dan is clearly unlikable and I kept wondering why Alan even wanted to befriend him. Overall though, it was a good story.

Forever Amazing!
Revisado: 05-01-14
Would you listen to The Forever Girl again? Why?
Yes! Because of the great narrator, great story, and great characters.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the idea of the Forever Girl mixed in with the whole Wiccan theme. It was a great combination!
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite scene was when Charles comes to see Sophia as she's arriving to work and she says, "You came to see just to tell me that?" He says, "No," and kisses her for the first time, overcoming all his reservations about doing so. Loved it!
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
My extreme reaction was that I wanted it to continue! I was disappointed when it ended and there was no more of the story to enjoy.
Any additional comments?
I've heard the author is writing a new book in this series. I'm am so looking forward to reading it!

Hilarious!
Revisado: 12-06-13
If you could sum up Fifty Shades of Fifty Shades of Grey in three words, what would they be?
Makes you laugh.
What did you like best about this story?
I've read Fifty Shades of Grey which is why this story was so dang funny! The MC's bumbling attempts to become the next Christian Grey were hysterically funny. I loved every minute of this book!
What about Gillian Vance’s performance did you like?
She is one of the best narrators I've listened to in a long time.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, definitely!

Carpe Liber!
Revisado: 10-27-13
Where does Carpe DiEmily rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It ranks up there with the best.
What did you like best about this story?
What I loved about the story is the fact that the heroine starts off as someone who isn't very likable but changes throughout the story. She has a narrow view of the world and prejudges people based on her own misguided beliefs about them. During the story, two life-altering events happen to her that send her into a downward spiral to suicide. When someone unexpected shows up, her behaviors change and she begins to live her life and open her eyes to the realities she never saw before. In the end, you really begin to like Emily and feel a sense of connection with her. Her story is like real life. How many people do we prejudge until we get to know them? How many times are we wrong about something only to learn our mistake later on? These are the things that change us and make us grow. In this story, Emily grows and you share that experience with her.
What about Gillian Vance’s performance did you like?
Her funny and quirky style of narration, a lot like the author's style of writing. The part with the dog was hilarious!
If you could take any character from Carpe DiEmily out to dinner, who would it be and why?
Tyler! Hottie!
Any additional comments?
Carpe liber! Sieze this book! You won't be disappointed!

This should be a movie!
Revisado: 10-10-13
What did you love best about Into You?
There was nothing predictable about this book. The premise was brilliant. Winter is the heroine who discovers on her first date in a movie theatre that she can read people’s minds by kissing them on the lips. She ends up telling her best friend and they have a little fun with her new found power until the mysterious murder of one of her track teammates, Anika, happens in the high school bathroom. Then, Winter finds herself in a dilemma. Should she use her power to seek out the killer? Will her new love interest understand when she goes around kissing everyone? AND … who really did murder Anika?
What other book might you compare Into You to and why?
There is no other story like this one. It is unique. I started this book on a Saturday morning and could not stop until I was finished with it. If you plan on getting something done on the day you want to read this book, don’t! Just set that thing aside, whatever it is, because once you start this book, you won’t be able to stop.
Which character – as performed by Gillian Vance – was your favorite?
The hero and heroine, Winter and Stumblemeyer.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending.
Any additional comments?
This story isn’t just funny and quirky, it also deals with some serious issues that teens face while they’re in high school — date rape, teen pregnancy, self-esteem problems, all while trying to figure out who they are and where their lives will be going after they graduate. Dealing with a murder on top of that just adds to the characters’ angst and explains why the heroine, Winter, often finds herself in tears. This cleverly crafted novel has you laughing and crying at every page while at the same time trying to guess what is really going on.Highly recommended for readers age 16 and older.
