Historia
Will he ever know true happiness and peace? The world of Keller Thorne has been thrown on its head from the moment he was first hounded by the radical human group, the Vigil. He’s not complaining, as that chase led him to his mates: Johnny Oakes, a clever werewolf, and Ashley Whitlock, a former soldier for the witches. Together, the trio has faced down the collective forces of the Children of the Moon, and the Vigil.

Phenomenal Conclusion!
Revisado: 12-19-22
This was an absolutely phenomenal conclusion to the story of Kell, Ash, and Johnny. As the trio hide away in the mountains, preparing for the birth of their children, they become aware of greater dangers threatening Kell and his babies. Ash and Johnny leave Kell behind and set out to confront the Children and the Vigil. Along the way, they find out the two groups may be more intertwined than they knew. I loved the "road trip", short as it may have been, and the snark and humor between Ash and Johnny, and I really loved seeing the two of them acknowledge and reignite the feelings they had for each other in their youth. It got a little intense as the two Alphas fall into enemy hands, but I love the way they gave back measure-for-measure to their captors and didn't yield. I loved the way it took all three partners to prevail in the end. I loved the shaman and the children's antics, too. One thing I would have liked was to see something of the other wards and their interaction with Kell.
The narration was great, and I appreciated how the voices between the MCs were easily distinguishable.

Intriguing story, compelling characters
Revisado: 10-28-22
I found the story very intriguing to start, but once the villain appeared (and it was VERY obvious to me who it was), it became a tale of how long it would be before the MCs figured it out, and how they could miss the obvious clues. The mystery solved, the remaining chapters became more about watching the relationship between Kevin and Connor. I would have enjoyed the story more if the crimes' perpetrator wasn't so obvious. Additionally, Kevin has been estranged from his family for YEARS, but it only takes a few words and a back-handed non-apology (that made the estrangement KEVIN'S fault, even though it was his father who said the awful words that made Kevin leave in the first place) to make everything better? That just wasn't realistic. So. some good parts, but a little disappointing overall. I also thought some questions regarding the murders and the time gap between were left unanswered. I missed getting closure on the bodies, too. I loved Robbie, though, and her threats to Kevin's balls. Added some fun humor.
The narration was well done and the voice suited the story.

Historia
Dan Savage’s mother wants him to get married. His boyfriend, Terry, says “no thanks” because he doesn’t want to act like a straight person. Their six-year-old son, D.J., says his two dads aren’t “allowed” to get married but that he’d like to come to the reception and eat cake. Throw into the mix Dan’s straight siblings, whose varied choices form a microcosm of how Americans are approaching marriage these days, and you get a rollicking family memoir that will have everyone - gay or straight, right or left, single or married - howling with laughter.

Some funny moments, but mostly dull
Revisado: 09-20-22
This book had some truly funny moments, but not as many as I expected. I certainly didn't find myself 'howling with laughter' as promised in the book description. Much of the book was too preachy, virtually bashing 'straight' people and their relationships and mocking their ceremonies like marriage. Maybe if you are gay or lesbian you will enjoy it more, but I could have done without all the political commentary.
I listened to the book through my Audible Plus subscription.
