Story Great, Narrator Style - NOT
Revisado: 08-05-22
I thoroughly enjoyed The Vine Witch and was happy to see this book was available & in Audible/Kindle so I snapped it up with a credit happily. I read the first third of the book, liking the story that was forming but then had no time to sit and read so switched to the audiobook. The story remained intriguing but the over dramatic reading of the narrator destroyed it for me. Her flourishes and overdone emphasis kept taking my attention away from the very creative storyline. I did finish the book - and it was a great story - but I will never buy an audiobook with this person reading it again in this style.

Book had a flaw but no spoiler here
Revisado: 08-03-22
The narrator of these books is phenomenal & the best I've ever heard and that's saying a lot given the quantities of listening I've done. The writing is solid but occasionally too repetitive in Chess's feelings of worthless. Love story throughout series is superlative. Very sexy writing at times but not too much. Love the dialect. All in all I loved the series and am very sad I am finished with it. Will give her other book a try.

Phenomenal Writing & Acting
Revisado: 06-16-22
I was so surprised to be so engrossed in this character and story, given how it started out when I thought I couldn't relate to the main character. It got so tense, was read so brilliantly, that I had to stop doing the housework I usually do while listening, and just waste a day to finish listening to it!

Enjoyable Fluff
Revisado: 02-19-22
Exactly right when you want light, stress free reading. Easy to go in and out of if you read (or listen) as I do in snatches here and there. Main male character a bit too perfect in the relationship to be true but believable enough.

Great Idea

Loved beginning and end. Got annoying for awhile in the middle as the choices the main character made were so poor but overall believable and enjoyable.

A lot of detail to absorb and understand but she does a masterful job of making you care about the players. Still unsure where story/ saga will lead in depressing world after WW3.

Confusing at first but worth hanging in for
Revisado: 10-01-20
Marketed as twins leading white vs black lives but you don't get to that until halfway through the book so I was confused for awhile. Engrossing all the way through however and extremely well acted. Had kind of an abrupt ending.
