Historia
Who is the Secret Royal? Some say they’re a disgruntled courtier; others that it’s King Charles’ Head of Pens. Perhaps it’s just the Countess of Wessex (as you’ll see they do appear to be close to the late Queen). But then they do have the same cadence as Camilla... Whoever it is they’ve written a rip-roaring diary of 18 months behind the Palace walls, during one of the most tumultuous periods of The Firm’s existence.

Hilarious Digs at the Royal Family
Revisado: 12-20-24
Driving home the message of dysfunctional, delusional, entitled dullards by poking fun at them reflecting recent events. OMG the bit about Liz Truss is priceless! If you're knowledgeable about the royal family and enjoy a good laugh, you'll enjoy this.

Historia
...And What Do You Do? is a hard-hitting analysis of the royal family, exposing its extravagant use of public money and the highly dubious behaviour of some among its ranks, whilst being critical of the knee-jerk sycophancy shown by the press and politicians. Baker also considers the wider role the royals play in society, including the link with House of Lords reform, and the constitutional position of the monarch, which is important given Prince Charles’ present and intended approach.

Former MP dishes on Issues of Outdated Monarchy
Revisado: 03-26-23
Mr. Baker has keen insights into the ongoing issues that started long ago to protect the Royal Family from public scrutiny and review as to whether the British public is receiving value for the taxes they pay to support them. The Royal Family's wealth has increased substantially over time and yet they have only recently deigned to some income taxes voluntarily. Other issues discussed include the large number of crown properties that the public gets to pay for, the private planes the lower royals insist on using. And of course, the need to massively slim down the number of royal persons who will continue to receive financial benefits from public tax funds.
Britain needs a to get rid of its imperial monarchy and replace it with a modern one, if it chooses to keep it at all. Much will depend on how Charles III behaves and what the British public think about him and Camilla in their new roles.

Sad Outcome
Revisado: 08-17-20
I listened to this book this past weekend. Interesting to learn how much the gutter press has done in order to sell copy. Between the Me Too movement and BLM, there should be some reckoning in the UK for this bad behavior. I am hopeful that when Charles becomes king, that he will clean out the old world view palace courtiers and flunkies who were in part responsible for this sad outcome. Meanwhile H&M are hunkered down in Santa Barbara putting together their new life. I don't know that Megan has a clear understanding of just how the aristocracy in England came to be (think snakes in suits hundred of years ago) and how the class system lives on there. I am half American and half Brit and find the class system there abhorrent.
