Historia
If not being able to read was a disease, it would be an epidemic. Millions of Americans can’t read, but illiteracy often goes unacknowledged or unnoticed. If you are the parent or teacher of a child who struggles with reading, you know the painful way that illiteracy steals their confidence and robs them of the joy that comes from learning. William Manzanares IV - a member of the Puyallup Tribe in Washington state - wrote I Can’t Read to give the literacy conversation a much-needed jump-start.

As a women who grew up with dexexia, I can say this story rings true. I love that Will Manzanares both strives to help people with literacy struggles and also those who don"t struggle but want to understand and to help. This books is worth reading ... or listening to.

Historia
Two blood-spattered strangers awake, locked in the trunk of a car - with a murdered cop and the smoking gun. Aside from raging headaches and no idea what's happened, they appear to have nothing in common. Troy thinks it's 2001 and he's still a combat surgeon fighting terrorists in Afghanistan. Emmy believes it's 2002 and she's still grifting a living from the streets of L.A.

story ends with more questions then it started
Revisado: 11-14-17
The story ends with more questions then it started. I get annoyed by stories that don't stand alone but are mainly a lead in to the next book in the series. My pet peeve. The story is well crafted and the narration is very good. I enjoyed it until the last chapters.

Historia
Mike Daley doesn't go to confession much since he left the priesthood twenty years ago and became a lawyer, but that doesn't stop his old friend, Father Ramon Aguirre, from trying to get him there. "It wouldn't kill you to go to church once in a while," he tells Mike. But it does kill someone. For several months, a ruinous sexual harassment suit has been building against the San Francisco Catholic Archdiocese, and when the plaintiff's lawyer is found dead, an almost audible sigh of relief is heard.

narration is excellent! Story is really good, too
Revisado: 10-28-16
I enjoyed the story & Sheldon Siegel's writing style. The narration by Sam Gunther was incredible. I was especially impressed with his ability to switch between Mike Daley's (the protagonist's) inner voice & spoken voice.
