As a child of that long vanished LA music scene , this memoir is a great reminder that yes indeed it did happen , just that way. As a wild and wooly rock and roll (16 year old ) chick. We used to cute our way into the bars to worship at the throne of eclectic, live music.
Girls were comodities in that scene but for those of us that wanted to rock and actually play music it was always fun to get to perform the "Girl Songs". Flea paints a great portrait of our risk taking, try anything once attitude, that some of us were lucky enough to survive. The Chilies truly represent the LA Vibe. Long may they rock.

I love Kylie Scott. So what happened here?

Every other one of her novels have been entertaining and I have read or listened to them all. This was a HUGE disappointment. Nothing interesting happened here at all, ever.
I wouldn't be so disappointed if I didn't know that she could do better, but I do. Not one character in this book was even worth mentioning. It was just Blaaaaaaaa. Come on Ms. Scott we are counting on you and your edgier characters and plots. in a genre full of Blaaaaa and "I only made it t to page 10 again, before my
gag reflex set in" we need real storytellers, like you, to deliver!
That said, adding a Male narrator really amps up an audible experience.
Please forgive this rating, I truly love your writing gift. Please consider this tough love.

This was my least favorite in the series so far.

The writing is well done. it's just a slog through way too much emotional angst to get to a real story. The first 3 chapters plus the last 5 were the best of the story. The middle of the story needed more supporting character development in order to make it interesting. The series as a whole depends way too much on the pasts of the main characters and way too little on their present. It would also be nice to draw in the rest of the band as group interacting throughout the story. The compelling element to read a series is too remain connected to the overall story of the group while getting the deeper stories of its individual members. Don't get me wrong, there is enough here to motivate me to finish the series, just not enough to read her next one. As for the narrators, I have listened to many stories with these two and they are great my reason for the 4 rating is because of the mispronunciations they drive me a little crazy.

Long time fan of the Elder Races series.

I was disappointed with this book. It just seemed to drag. There was no tie in with the other books and the characters were a little one dimensional. There was some great potential with the Puck and even the two main characters Sophie and Nicholas. I think it just never quite had the feeling of being an epic love story like the other books. I hope the next one brings a deeper tie in to the other domains and characters it just needs more.

This series has interesting story lines.

Too predictable, sickly sweet, not enough story .

This was just way too improbable to even enjoy as a fantasy. The sex was more prevalent than the story line. it would have been somewhat redeemable had the characters been developed more throughly. There are a lot of other almost identical books that have told this improbable tale, in a much more entertaining way. At least give your readers a reason to want to know more
about the characters than how many times they can have sex in 3 pages.

Dear JB Every time I listen. to this story.

I always think I will have to skip the bad/sad parts. I am always wrong. the story pulls me in and I have to listen to it in its entirety . That's the true sign of a storyteller.
Thanks again and again for the story. Now please may we have more on Audible. Although any new,story in any form is a gift. Just don't stop writing.
