Being myself educated in psychoanalysis and interventions, I would like to add that I find it difficult to maintain the ‘drama free’ zone, also because many people are being damaged. Either by their broken home (absent father and sometimes absent mother, at least in terms of divine femininity), or by the traumas they have gone through.
Someone has to care. And we have many veterans who deserve it. Working away doesn’t always work. At least not for them.
Private note for Corey: I also found it a little bit needy to always repeat ‘Google Corey Wayne’.
I see what you were doing, but people will know your name anyway, so no need to force it on them every single time.
But overall I have to say, even though I also learned much from Tony Robbins 30 years back, this book helped me to figure out what I did wrong. Hence I would say, even old professionals can take something home. And also girls. Because we really should try to learn from each other. And feminine and masculine are not only physical qualities as we know.
My advise: get the book and listen to it. It won’t harm you.

I purchased the book because Dr. Kernberg is one of the leading expert of Borderline and Narcissism in psychoanalysis. Dr. Stone undoubtedly has a profound knowledge and expertise, hence I can recommend the book.
However, for professionals, there is not much to learn, except that case studies of course always provide some kind of insight.

According to my own experience, most people think about global politics from their own perspective. In the Western Hemisphere, we are used to think, all problems should be solved via diplomacy and talking. Even though this is an understandable democratic approach, we have to learn to think like our adversaries. And even that term will make many liberals and progressives quite uncomfortable. But the truth of the matter is, even if you’re on a peace mission and disarmed, if someone is hostile and armed, you won’t succeed by talking him out.
Having spent my life in the military as well as Eastern Europe for quite some time, I know that Jim Sciutto describes the threat pretty accurate. And honestly, as more you know, as worse you sleep. The space war was still somewhat new to me, I did not know how hostile this environment has become, particularly because during the Cold War it was considered more or less neutral. But at that time, we had a balance of power. And we as Americans and Europeans were aware that there are systems who wish to destroy us. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, this scenario went black; people stopped thinking in terms of war and enemies. But it was never true, the entire intelligence world sensed it quite early, back in 2008 as the Georgian war occurred.
Considering myself a progressive in many aspects, I am afraid, most Democrats are still thinking that we are the aggressor (that was part of the Soviet Disinformation since ‘Nam) and that we should follow a non-interventional ideology. To me, that sounds like ‘I don’t care, if somebody rapes my neighbor.’ NATO still provides us the major guarantee for peace and security and even though I understand that most people dislike the idea of an arms race, in a world that General Gerasimov openly declared as in a constant state of war, even without official declaration, it’s not the kinder one who wins, but that one who is capable to defend himself. Liberty and democracy will vanish, if we do not defend and protect them. And this includes modern warfare technologies.
I hope, people will eventually wake up and understand the truth of the old word that states: Ci vis pacem, para bellum. If you want peace, prepare for war.

What is at stake, is nothing more or less than humanity itself. Prof. Snyder, who wrote such great books like Black Earth and Bloodlands, truly knows what he’s talking about. Sometimes, you need to look back in history, in order to get the larger picture of the presence. And an idea in which direction we’re heading.
Maybe, it’s time to recall what the US is about. An idea of a new nation, oppositely to the European Empires.
As Thomas Jefferson stated in the Declaration of Independence:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed, by their Creator, with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.
That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.
The Statue of Liberty has been a symbol of hope for centuries. Generations of people who suffered under tyranny and dictatorship risked their lives to reach Ellies Island. People fled the Soviet Union and defected to the US, kissing the earth and saluting the flag with tears in their eyes. Even the Chinese protesters on Tiananmen place erected a Lady Liberty.
The US fought the Nazis that could start the war only because Stalin engaged in the Ribbentrop-Molotov Pact that divided the sovereign nation of Ukraine between Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia. Stalin allowed Hitler to invade Poland, promising to not attack, because he hoped to share the victory with Nazi Germany. Only after the Germans were betraying him, he switched sides and joined the Yalta Conference where he proclaimed to allow the from the Red Army occupied eastern territories free elections so that they can decide whether they wish to join the western community or the Soviet Union. Molotov and Stalin tricked Roosevelt who had no other chance then to remain of good faith.
The Putin regime stole not only the elections, but also the wealth of the collapsed Soviet Union. They attacked and killed their adversaries and had no problem to use false flag attacks to start the Russian war on terrorism against the Chechen.
The Soviets terrorized the world at a global level after WWII. From Korea to Vietnam; from Cuba to Afghanistan. From Georgia in 2008 to Ukraine in 2014. The latter one is the first time since the end of WWII that a sovereign country whom we all together guaranteed integrity at the Budapest Memorandum in 1994, was invaded and partially occupied.
As General Gerasimov stated, war doesn’t need to be declared anymore, because we are at constant war. And in the Clausewitzian way of destroying the enemies willpower, Russia keeps threatening the world with its toxic destructive idea of pulling others down to the lowest possible standard of morality.
The communist East Germans needed indeed a great wall. But not because they were afraid, too much immigrants will flood them. Because they knew, without this wall, their citizens would ran away from the tyranny.
Lady Liberty doesn’t bear a sword. Because she rules by love and grace. She’s the light.
And like darkness is not just the opposite quality of light, kleptocracy less then Lady Liberty. You can enlighten a dark room with a tiny torch. But you can never darken a bright room with a sack of darkness.
The United States of America always represented the light. While the Russian regime and Trump are just darkness. And if the young people in Russia will wake up, they will erase the darkness by lighting up a fire that will burn you forever in the purgatory of history.
Whilst I hope for the best, I prepare for the worst. Because if we lose this war, it is over.
