Everything changes when she receives a mysterious message: You’re a Denton. You belong on Starfall Point. Once you’re here, I’ll tell you everything you need to know. When Riley arrives on the island, she learns her aunt has left her a historic mansion brimming with haunted antiques. Turns out, that’s not the only thing she’s inherited. Historia
It’s officially booty o’clock, I’m alone again in my kitchen choking down a slice of terrible chocolate cake…and I’m pretty sure I just got drunk texted by the man I have a ginormous crush on. I’ve been daydreaming about Eliot Hoffman’s dimples for two months, and even though I’m sure this was a mistake on his end, it doesn’t mean it’s not an opportunity on mine. It’s the middle of the night, and I just wanna talk to him. So I text him back.

Best with “Call Me Maybe”
Revisado: 02-26-23
I’m not a romance reader. Mystery, suspense, science fiction, yes, romance, nope. Yet I’ve purchased and listened to multiple Cara Bastone romance books since finding her through “Call Me Maybe”. This book, like her others, is fun, relaxing, interesting and light enough to listen to while doing something else.

Intriguing, engrossing
Revisado: 02-22-23
Okay, I just got this book for a short read to kill some time, but it took me over a week to finish it, The writing had me curious at first, the. Really roped me in. Although I listened to it in short (15 minute blocks), I kept coming back to it and re listening to sections to make sure I understood what was happening. Overall, an excellent read.

Historia
After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn't know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Syrupy Sweet - Diabetic Coma
Revisado: 03-29-22
The narrator did an admirable job, switching voices between characters, and kept a gentle cadence throughout.
The story starts out well with a "grab-ya" scene. Then a cute and bizarre change of setting that is silly and weird at the same time, but keeps one interested. When the heroine and hero predictably fall in love, then it is an endless saccharine exchange of gooey love language right up to the end. Had a hard time getting through the mildly contrived conflicts only to be coated in sugary devotion in the extreme. This book had so much potential to be a challenging story that kept one on the edge of the seat. However, it doesn't deliver. I wondered how the narrator got through all the sticky sweet dialogue between the main. characters?

Historia
Emma Frederick bolts upright in bed, pulse racing. It must be a bad dream. Except it’s not. Crrrrrreeeeeeeeaaaaaaakkkkkkk. The sound of the loose step sends her body into overdrive, and she rushes for the secret room behind the wall. The screech of old hinges echoes through the house as he enters her bedroom. He starts whistling. Three blind mice. Three blind mice. She slaps a hand over her mouth, stifling her scream. He’s coming for her, but that can’t be. She killed him last month.

Twist to Conclusion
Revisado: 09-18-21
Didn't see that one coming at all. Twust in the plot at the end. Really like the strong female characters throughout the story, Shay, Corrine, Elinor, Emma and Clara. Each a terrific role model of strength, conviction and courage. Really enjoyed this story. Narration is excellent.

Narration is superb. please never change the narrator for future stories. Thank you Jana Deleon for another sweet, FUNNY, and great mystery included with friendship and loyalty - in which to get lost! My favorite light author, by far!

Fortune Team Foils Fun-Spoiler!
Revisado: 09-14-21
Tremendously fun for long time Fortune fans. Best to have ready the other books in sequence before reading this one. That makes the story so much more enjoyable. The entire team works together on this one. Including Carter and Deputy Bro. ADORE this narrator. She is the same throughout all of the books. Highly recommend for a light, entertaining read!

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

No Regrets Giving This Book A Chance!
Revisado: 09-09-21
Start is slow and vacuous. However, stick with it. Of course, the predictable romance is quite lovely but the concurrent stories of both families lost, and found, of dignity and personal worth, also lost and found are an underlying base. The sensitive description of chronic depression and anxiety - from all walks of life - and the alternative solutions are affirming. The message being - there is always help no matter the despair or loneliness. The subject of Chinese stigma and shame over getting therapy and medication for depression is addressed. There are very satisfying moments of love and acceptance, reconciliation and the vaguishing of one really terrible character. Also, moments of self-realization amidst the spectre of perfectionism. Resiliency eventually marks the day.

Get lost In This Wonderful Story
Revisado: 08-27-21
Fascinating from start to finish. A really lovely way to wind down the All Souls series. The new narrator does an admirable job! She is great, and in her own way, as good as Jennifer Ikeda. For fans of this series, do yourself a favor and get lost in this wonderful story of Marcus' past-life and the unfolding of Pheobe's new life with Marcus. Diana, et.al., are ever present and you are rewarded with their unfolding stories, too. Thoroughly enjoyable! Must read for Deborah Harkness fans!

Perhaps it's because I am too much a Baldacci fan or because I read too much of this genre, but this story was too predictable. The story was well written, but not satisfying.
