Historia
The Great War changed everything and everyone, and Larry Darrell is no exception. Though his physical wounds from the war heal, his spirit is changed almost beyond recognition. He leaves his betrothed, the beautiful and devoted Isabel; studies philosophy and religion in Paris; lives as a monk, and witnesses the exotic hardships of Spanish life. All of life that he can find - from an Indian Ashrama to labor in a coal mine - becomes Larry's spiritual experiment as he spurns the comfort and privilege of the Roaring 20s.

Next level Theology
Revisado: 11-04-22
Content is next level and requires you pay attention. Reader is sometimes hard to follow and a couple chapters have an echo. But it’s one of those books you could read every couple years and repeatedly get more information and inspiration.

Historia
A Course in Miracles (ACIM) - the self-study spiritual-thought system that teaches the way to love and forgiveness - has captivated the minds and captured the hearts of millions of people. Delivering inner peace where fear and pain once prevailed, its universal message is unsurpassed in its power to heal. Yet many students report that they have difficulty grasping the principles or keeping up with the lessons. So even while they yearn for the spiritual freedom the course offers, they put the book aside, hoping to get to it one day.

The sand-blasted world of Arrakis has become green, watered, and fertile. Old Paul Atreides, who led the desert Fremen to political and religious domination of the galaxy, is gone. But for the children of Dune, the very blossoming of their land contains the seeds of its own destruction. The altered climate is destroying the giant sandworms, and this in turn is disastrous for the planet's economy.

Great sci-fi book ! Recommend!
Revisado: 07-28-21
Great book, really liked it. This book is about how precious life is on our planet. Listened to it during daily commute and always looked forward it (story, not traffic). Although the premise of a multi-generational ship is not new, the story was engaging with splatters genuine scientific and philosophical speculation. There is some ‘cuddling’ with crew mates but how else will this generational ship continue? Really liked the author’s style of writing and a few surprises here and there. Great ending too. Will definitely get another book from this author.

Historia
This collection shows a vibrant young writer with a wide-ranging imagination, ferocious creative energy, devastating wit, and an eye for the wonderful and terrifying and tragic. Among the gems are "All the Sounds of Fear", "The Sky Is Burning", "The Very Last Day of a Good Woman", and "In Lonely Lands". Though they stand tall on their own merits, they also point the way to the sublime stories that followed soon after and continue to come even now, more than 50 years later.

Fantastic Book
Revisado: 06-16-21
Forgive me Harlan as I am late to the party. What a brilliant and talented man. Each story reads (to me) is like an episode of the twilight zone, interesting with a twist. The introduction
may seem long but is just as interesting as his stories. Some think he’s a grouchy old man, but after learning more about his life I think he has a near infinite imagination, devastating energy and a tender heart and kindness for humanity. It must have been difficult being a Demi-god living on the same planet amongst us mortals. RIP Harlan, your fan base lives on, and I am your newest recruit.
