The book was a good look at how the current elite are focused on staying in power by adding new ‘rules’ that none of us asked for and how the average ‘American is being forced into agreement with the new ‘rules’ just to avoid being cancelled.

Political Bile Instead of Wit

The incessant characterization of the conservative politicians and supporters was off putting. At first, it was humorous. It became satirical then just plain derogatory, which would have been fine if the story involved politicians from both sides of the aisle.
I am not even a Trump supporter. I can’t stand the man, but to witness the author spewing hatred just became sad and that was unfortunate because I’ve enjoyed his books for many years.
This was just another transparent attempt by an author to increase the polarization of Americana and drive us, as a nation, further apart.
The story would have been better served to characterize all politicians as weasels and illuminate the potential for fervent supporters to be blinded by the adoration of their chosen political champion. There is just as much of this on the left as there is on the right.
The story could have been more appropriately named ‘Hiaasen’s Cheap Shot.’

Wonderful and thought provoking book

Love the line - ‘We can’t go back and we can’t stay here’! The current social situation we (society) have found ourselves in over the last couple of years is best pondered with that thought in mind. Take a chance, be an adult and really hear what this book is saying. Great traveling audiobook!
