Historia
The Kingdom of Charis and the Kingdom of Chisholm have joined together, pledged to stand against the tyranny of a corrupt Church. The youthful Queen Sharleyan of Chisholm has wed King Cayleb of Charis, forging a single dynasty, a single empire, dedicated to the defense of human freedom. Crowned Empress of that empire, Sharleyan has found in Cayleb's arms the love she never dared hope for in a "marriage of state." In Cayleb's cause, his defiance of the ruthless Group of Four who govern mother Church, she has found the task to which she can commit her mind and her courage.

Historia
The Shongairi conquered Earth. In mere minutes, half the human race died, and our cities lay in shattered ruins. But the Shongairi didn't expect the survivors' tenacity. And, crucially, they didn't know that Earth harbored two species of intelligent, tool-using bipeds. One of them, long-lived and lethal, was hiding in the mountains of eastern Europe, the subject of fantasy and legend. When they emerged and made alliance with humankind, the invading aliens didn't stand a chance. Now, a select few blood-drinking immortals are on their way to the Shongairi homeworld.

Narrator Gets in the way
Revisado: 12-05-22
Story was, as usual, exciting and will done. I have always enjoyed BEM stories and this s will done.
But Narrator Ralph Lister was frustrating. His horrible southern accent sounded like a Brit thinking a Georgia accent is based on. Carolinian. The British word pronunciation and cadences made me wanted to simply delete this and wait for Stephen Fry's version.
There were two ways of generating emotional contact with the characters: loud or louder. No nuance nor basic understanding of the characters.

Something called the “Blue Juice" is coming. For all of us. Luckily, me (Chip Collins), Pete, Nikola Tesla, Bobo, and FBI Agent Gina Phillips are here to kick its ass, and send it back to last Tuesday. Maybe. Or maybe we'll fail, and everyone in the multiverse is doomed. (Seriously, you might want to get that underground bunker ready.) Either way, I've got to get home to Julie and find out – woah, I'm not about to tell you that right here in the book description! TMI, dude.

I used to say Paul Simon only needed to state at a mic stand and he'd have another superb album.
We have the same with Rob Dirck. He wraps the story in this novel with the most ridiculous objects and people (I count anything that can talk in his books as a person) you'd ever meet.
Now I need to address Ron's expertise to the same bucket, combined, of course, with my news and technical writing skills. He's much gooder than me (I lead the CHANGE THE COMPARATIVE SQUAD of Northern, IL

I don't know what the humans are so cranky about. Their enclosures are large, they ingest over 1,000 calories per day, and they're allowed to mate. Plus, they have me: an Autonomous Servile Unit, housed in a mobile/bipedal chassis. I do my job well: keep the humans healthy and happy.

I've more listened to two of Rob Dircks' novels.
Totally accessible to any reader. Rob draws such cool environments that I dearly want in on the escapades.
And I am convinced I want to have a coupla beers with him.
Sorry , I need to go back and find all his other stuff.

I found the journal at work. Well, I don't know if you'd call it work, but that's where I found it. It's the lost journal of Nikola Tesla, one of the greatest inventors and visionaries ever. Before he died in 1943, he kept a notebook filled with spectacular claims and outrageous plans.

God, I need to use spend more money!
Revisado: 09-07-22
This book hold a major error in my mind. I used to think The Hitchhiker's Guide was the finest sci- parody I've read.
Rob's novel is funnier, reviews the world through a sarcastic loser's POV and actually did research on Tesla. I can't validate the Serbian accent though, haven't heard a lot of it. Rob's sounds like a Michie of Russian [or another Slavic language]) and German.
But whay Rob does with Tesla and the others protagonists is a marvel.
I call the author Rob because I believe I actually know him as a best bud- he creates that much of a friendly environment as to make you think you actually know the characters.
*Comedic timing, exellent
*story path, a little slow- I wanted more dimensions (more by revising some of Heinlien's short stories tooled into chapters for a novel.
Now of to Auxible and Amazon's horrendous search engines.

A Tad Disappointing.
Revisado: 06-16-22
I really found the various character choices disappointing.
When the narrator changes female to male, the male voices are growls which I find narrowing the character.
The first three volumes found Matthew, Marcus and Chris very approachable.
Not here.

Historia
Bringing the magic and suspense of the All Souls Trilogy to a deeply satisfying conclusion, this highly anticipated finale went straight to number one on the New York Times best seller list. In The Book of Life, Diana and Matthew time-travel back from Elizabethan London to make a dramatic return to the present - facing new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home, Sept-Tours, they reunite with the beloved cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches - with one significant exception.

Historia
It is said by some that the Spellmonger’s exile to the Magelaw left Sevendor, the City of Magic, unprotected in his absence. That would be untrue, for though the mightiest mage of the era was forced by law and custom to refrain from visiting his realm in Castal, he left behind a significant body of learned and dedicated colleagues to continue his policies and see to the protection of the magelands. These were not all warmagi, nor even High Magi; indeed, the strength of Sevendor depended on magi of all types and descriptions.

This was a fabulous series of character sketches from the main storyline. Two love stories appear to begin while we find out how really clever the magi are w/o Minelin. Teriffic job Terry. And John- as a former broadcaster I just love your vocal control and vocal story-telling.
