Historia
When a ghost ship is discovered, its crew presumed dead after trying to reach the storm-shrouded island Akina, Navani Kholin must send an expedition to make sure the island hasn't fallen into enemy hands. Knights Radiant who fly too near find their Stormlight suddenly drained, so the voyage must be by sea. Shipowner Rysn Ftori lost the use of her legs but gained the companionship of Chiri-Chiri, a Stormlight-ingesting winged larkin, a species once thought extinct. Now Rysn's pet is ill, and any hope for Chiri-Chiri’s recovery can be found only at the ancestral home of the larkin.

Novella?
Revisado: 09-16-22
I really liked the story, as always. Possibly a bit slower paced than some of his, but I don't consider that a downside necessarily. The length was interesting, it wasn't really a novel but it was much more than a novella. A few more answers about the sleepless, and what they were protecting, but plenty more questions left at the end. If you are hoping for a nice pat resolution you'll be disappointed, though it doesn't end on a cliffhanger or seem unfinished.

Historia
Cole Balek is a liar. Okay, not really. He just makes you think he’s sawing someone in half or that he’s trapped in a trunk. All Cole wants is to continue the love of magic that he and his late father shared by becoming the best tween magician in the Las Vegas area. But when Cole and his mother get a mysterious note from a rare book collector, he’s forced to search among his father’s belongings for A Lesson in Magick, an old book of spells connected to an ancient group of magickers. What he finds instead are a series of coded clues his dad left for him.

good clean kids book
Revisado: 12-29-20
The story twists were a bit obvious. there's a lot more that could have been done with misdirection. Josh gad's performance was great. I don't remember any swearing. did you do that The story has both real magic and stage magic as main components. mostly stage magic.

Rated R for language and some sexual content
Revisado: 07-17-15
Not everyone cares about content, and some feel that that should only be a concern for children. If you are one of those, then disregard this review. I have read and liked a lot of Neil Gaimon, but there was a lot of f-words and other stuff that made this book unpleasant. The story starts as the character is about to get out of prison. I hoped that the book would clean up when he did get out. I was wrong and so stopped listening. The Narrator was ok, but he talked a bit too slow and had long pauses.

good story, reader for much younger kids
Revisado: 01-14-15
I am not a fan of the reader. he sounds too much like he's reading to very small children. I find it hard to listen to and teenagers would find it painfully condescending. It is a little less painful if you set playback at 1.25 speed. The story is good. Very creative when it comes to the working of dreams by people who slipped out of our world. The fantasy world also seems consistent enough to follow its own rules, which is important.
