Wow. I am so very impressed. CS Lewis starts the book with some very logical points about morality and how it points to God using analogies I haven't heard before, and rebutting contrary arguments in ways I haven't heard before, and then proceeds onto some of the most insightful spiritual wisdom about the Christian life I've ever heard.
I am hereby canonizing him as a saint ;)

Great Book

The book is great. It's got a personal touch as it is written by a friend of the saint. Good intro to Padre for someone like me who's just learning about him.
The voice actor's constant switching to an exaggerated Italian accent for any Italian name, place, or quote by Padre is distracting rather than helpful and breaks up the flow. He also gave a weird, kind of ominous voice to Jesus. Could have done without that, but other than that it's good.

A Life of a Prayer

St Teresa is a doctor of prayer in the church. Interesting that there is a one star reviewer who didn't like the book bc of its "preaching." The fact that this autobiography is centered on St Teresa's journey in prayer, its benefits, its fruit, and tips for it, is exactly why the book is great. I love it. The voice actor is likeable too - not overly dramatic as some can be.

The content of the book is a gift from God. The narrator is a bit distracting and sometimes irritating as he speaks very choppily for an unnatural dramatic effect. But it can be put up with for the content.
