Historia
Until the helicopter crash, Jill Smith never knew fear. A homicide detective in the leftist enclave of Berkeley, California, she has faced down her share of thugs, thieves, and killers, but since surviving the downed helicopter, her nerves have been shot. Unwilling to submit to her anxiety, she goes back to work. The chef and owner of Paradise, an upscale restaurant in Berkeley’s so-called “Gourmet Ghetto,” is found on the floor of his own kitchen, poisoned by the soup he was seasoning.

No excuse for mispronounced street names!
Revisado: 11-20-23
Not her fault - talented but those supervising her get a F for double checking this. For Pete’s sake - she was driving down MA-RIN not Mar-in. Other street name blotched as well..,

Essential knowledge as the author pulls back the curtain about the dangers of generic drug manufacturers but also shows the FDA needs improvement too!

Historia
All My Knotted-Up Life is a beautifully crafted portrait of resilience and survival, a poignant reminder of God’s enduring faithfulness, and proof positive that if we ever truly took the time to hear people’s full stories . . . we’d all walk around slack-jawed.

TOP TIER WRITING AND NARRATION - APPLAUD WORTHY
Revisado: 03-10-23
I recently heard Beth Moore interviewed on NPR and admired her determination to stand up to misogyny in her church so much that I had to search out this book. Moore's title is diminutive and modest and leads us to lowered expectations. Nothing could be further from the truth. Her story is skillfully written and voiced, second to none. With descriptions so spot-on and impactful - she's hitting above her weight. She doesn't need a whole paragraph to make an impression you'll remember. Listen as she shares her girlhood surrounded by a cast of characters, her family, with entertaining charm. Her writing style often possesses a rhythm like a stand-up stage performer when we hear family quips. CONFESSION: I have not gone beyond chapter eight yet because first, I had to acknowledge her talent. In the prologue, she assures us she is narrating the first part in a more childlike voice. Be patient she writes that Arkansas 'twang' will be left behind. I feel sorry for those who will read the book without hearing her voice!
