Historia
Dr. Abby Dolan was on the fast track at a major San Francisco hospital when she made a critical choice: to follow her fiancé, Josh Wyler, to the picturesque California town of Patience, where he has a new job with manufacturing giant Colstar. Working in a small-town emergency room, knowing that her every move sparks gossip, Abby nonetheless begins to feel at home - until the first undiagnosable patients start showing up. Abby calls them NIWWs: No Idea What's Wrong. And despite her considerable skills, she can't crack these baffling cases. At the same time, Josh begins experiencing...

Although the story line was a familiar one, this book was excellent. It was fast paced and held my attention through the whole book. I really enjoyed this and would recommend it to anyone. The narration was also excellent, which in my opinion, is sometimes more important than the book itself, because if you can't stand listening to the narrator's voice and/or attempt at accents, it ruins the story. Highly recomend.

This was sooooo boring. I had read an article in the Boston Globe about the author and thought I'd try it. I feel it was a waste of my money. Firstly, the story had more to do with the main characters family, friends and dog (which, by teh way, was quite boring)than with a serial killer. Secondly, the Boston accent was horrible. It sounded like when William Devane tries to do a Boston accent. As bad as it was, I couldn't help but be bothered by the fact that the main female character's mother, father, sister, boyfriend, friends, detectives, virtually every character in the character in the gook all had the awful accent, but somehow she didn't. Did she grow up somewhere else? Really, really annoyed me. I would say about 1 hour of the book actually dealt with the serial killer, and that wasn't even that exciting. If you decide to get this, it's okay to fast forward to the last paragraph if you get bored. That's really all you need to listen to. I will definitely take all books by this author off my Wish List.

This was the first Lee Child book I've ever read and really enjoyed. It was exciting, with twists and turns and a lot of action. It kept my attention the entire time. The narrator was pretty good, but, as usual, my complaint is trying to sound like a woman. It just can't be done. Other than that, really good.

Historia
Life would seem to have gone well for George Mason. His days as a criminal defense lawyer are long behind him. At 59, he has sat as a judge on the Court of Appeals in Kindle County for nearly a decade. Yet, when a disturbing rape case is brought before him, the judge begins to question the very nature of the law and his role within it. What is troubling George Mason so deeply? Is it his wife's recent diagnosis? Or the strange and threatening e-mails he has started to receive?

I was bored. Out of the 6 hours, only about an hour was dialogue and action. My mind wandered, but it didn't matter, because I didn't miss anything important.

Historia
In the town of Ada, Oklahoma, Ron Williamson was going to be the next Mickey Mantle. But on his way to the Big Leagues, Ron stumbled, his dreams broken by drinking, drugs, and women. Then, on a winter night in 1982, not far from Ron’s home, a young cocktail waitress named Debra Sue Carter was savagely murdered. The investigation led nowhere. Until, on the flimsiest evidence, it led to Ron Williamson. The washed-up small-town hero was charged, tried, and sentenced to death - in a trial littered with lying witnesses and tainted evidence....

Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book. I normally love all of his work, but this was dry and boring. My mind wandered through most of it and I actually didn't finish it. I think had it been in story form, he would have done an excellent job of telling what happened.

Historia
In Chicago, a pregnant cafeteria worker suffering nothing more malevolent than flulike symptoms begins hemorrhaging from every part of her body. In Boston, a brilliant musician, her face disfigured by an unknown disease, rapidly descends into a lethal paranoia. In Belinda, West Virginia, a miner suddenly goes berserk, causing a cave-in that kills two of his co-workers. Finding the link between these events could prove FATAL.

Excellent book. It was full of action and adventure and kept my attention the whole time. Also, kudos to the narrator for not trying to imitate a woman's voice. He did an outstanding job and I hope to listen to more books with him as narrator.

Devilishly clever, Next blends fact and fiction into a breathless tale of a new world where nothing is what it seems, and a set of new possibilities can open at every turn. Next challenges our sense of reality and notions of morality. Balancing the comic and bizarre with the genuinely frightening and disturbing, Next shatters our assumptions and reveals shocking new choices where we least expect.

The book was okay. It also wasn't what I expected from the description. It was a little silly, but did give you food for thought. My main issue, as with other books, is the narration. I find that when a man tries to do a woman's voice, they sound ridiculous and usually come of as "snotty" sounding, no matter how the character is described.

This book was excellent. Another hit for James Patterson. Mary Stuart Masterson's narration was outstanding. The story moved along at a fast pace with a lot of twists, turns and suprises, and kept my interest the whole time. I would recommend this book to anyone, and, in fact, have done so.

Historia
A firefight reverberates through Moscow's dark, rain-soaked streets; shattered glass and screams echo in the air. In the lawless ways of Russia's capital city, the gunmen melt away into the night. Two men are dead, the targets not what they seem. A shadowy figure lopes along the riverbank outside the Kremlin walls. Known to all as Volk, a battle-hardened veteran of Russia's brutal war in Chechnya, he prowls Moscow¿s grim alleyways, a knife concealed in his prosthetic foot at all times.

I don't like being harsh, but I thought this was the most boring book. I didn't even get through the first part, not only because of the lack of dialogue and "action" and way too much descriptive/background information that, quite frankly, I grasped from the first time it was described/explained, but also due to the creepy disturbing voice and drone of the narrator. People don't talk like that. There was no expression and at times it seemed like the book was one run-on sentence. When he did a voice, it sounded ridiculous, especially when he tried to do a woman's voice (although I did like Nigel's) and sometimes it was hard to know who was speaking because at times, not always, they sounded the same. That was frustrating, because had it at least been consistent,it would have been easier to differentiate between characters. I got so bored with the descriptive parts, my mind would wander and I would realize that I had missed relevant parts. I thought the story line was great and had there been more dialogue and action, I know I would have enjoyed it (albeit it with a different narrator); unfortunately, I was too bored to continue.
