I have read many books written by people who identify with having a, “disability.“ Many of those books seem to be written for people who also identify with having a disability. This is not one of those books!

First off, Zack’s incredibly upbeat narration of his own words are simply spectacular! in fact, I did not want to stop listening. He is absolutely hysterical. Yet, his kindness and compassion mixed with his unique sense of humor goes unmatched.

Make no mistake, this is a book for everyone!

I have yet to have met someone who has not struggled with forgiveness at some point in our lives. In “Thirst” the author tackles this very difficult topic on both sides of the forgiveness coin. Meaning both forgiveness of others and forgiving ourselves. Couple forgiveness and vulnerability and we have an invitation for ultimate connectivity, compassion and kindness. All topics that most find challenging. This author takes on all of these topics by sharing her incredibly personal story. To say that her story is heartfelt would be the ultimate understatement.

Speaking as a blind person who not only listens intently, but also very sensitive to sound and tone. The narrator captures even the most sensitive aspects of this book with such warmth and kindness that at times I forgot that she was not the author.

I will conclude with saying that this book has it all with respect to coping and overcoming life’s greatest challenges. It is never easy to comment on someone’s memoir and yet I feel compelled for all of the reasons shared above. In fact, I found myself going back and re-listening.

This book was absolutely illuminating and liberating. From the start the author frees us from the burden and the questions of, “is it me?“ And, “ and what do I do now that I know that it is not just me?“

this is not a book about laying blame and finger-pointing. It is about taking charge of our own lives and recognizing that even as adults we have the ability to make a choice. Most importantly, it helps us understand our own behavior and attitude. And even recognizes the aftermath of now that we have this information What do we do now and the potential emotions that come along with this.

I highly recommend this book to everyone. It helps us understand ourselves, our history and present and even others that might be experiencing some thing similar. In short, it helps us to connect to ourselves and to others in an effort to live a deliberate and purposeful and connected life.
