Historia
Five contestants have been chosen to compete for ten million dollars on the game show One Lucky Winner. The catch? None of them knows what (or who) to expect, and it will be live streamed all over the world. Completely secluded in an estate in Northern California, with strict instructions not to leave the property and zero contact with the outside world, the competitors start to feel a little too isolated.

No redeeming characters
Revisado: 10-30-24
I had to finish this just to see if it got any better. It didn’t. One dimensional characters with very few redeeming qualities. By the end I didn’t care what happened to any of them.

The characters were a little one dimensional, I could predict the “twist” halfway through. Kind struggle to finish

Historia
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

Very disappointed
Revisado: 10-25-22
I'm always looking forward to the next SK book, but this was a huge letdown. I had to skip through a lot of it because it was so BORING. I think most of the writing in this book was word vomit, it could have easily been a novella or even a short story and probably would have been much better in that form.

Historia
The sequel to the number one Audible Best Seller Earthcore, Mount Fitz Roy continues the tale of Patrick O’Doyle and Bertha Lybrand, who were part of the horror show that occurred far below the mountains of Utah. They learn that the "mother of all motherlodes” discovered there was not unique, that there is another deposit similar to it three miles beneath the towering peak of Cerro Chaltén on the disputed border between Chile and Argentina. O'Doyle, a middle-aged former member of a disgraced black-ops unit, gets his aging team back together to go after this fortune.

Wow, and not in a good way
Revisado: 01-04-21
First, I love Sigler's previous books, they are usually engaging, original and really just fun to listen to. This one though, just seems like a throwaway. The dialog was cliche, tired, and frankly annoying. The story was okay, no surprises, but I found most of the characters to be one dimensional and the length to be way too long.

No idea what this story was about
Revisado: 01-05-16
Maybe this was due to the narration, which had an odd cadence throughout, but I could not keep track of the story. There were too many plotlines, and really a silly premise. I usually will buy a Rollins book straight away (unless he pairs with Rebecca Cantrell when it becomes more romance than action), but maybe will think twice next one.

OMG Seriously?
Revisado: 12-11-15
True love, soul mate...blah blah blah. I usually enjoy Coben's novel, but this, frankly, is a load of tripe and overly dramatic, both the text and the narration. Professor at a minor college can't get over his TRUE LOVE leaving him so he uncovers conspiracy. Interesting premise but not executed very well. I'm not a quitter so forced myself to finish the book, was a tough go. The only redeeming quality was that I bought the book on sale.

Historia
Though dead for two millennia, he remains perfectly preserved in black peat. The Man in the Moss is one of the most fascinating finds of the century. But, for the isolated Pennine community of Bridelow, his removal is a sinister sign. A danger to the ancient spiritual tradition maintained, curiously, by the Mothers' Union. In the weeks approaching Samhain - the Celtic feast of the dead - tragedy strikes again in Bridelow.

Another creepy wonderful Rickman story
Revisado: 10-14-15
I love Phil Rickman stories, they are viscerally unnerving, immersive and wonderful. He has quite a knack of keeping secrets that he exposes throughout the story, not just at the end where you would expect them. The narration is great, my only complaint being that I wish the speaker would pause a bit when scenes change, as I found it a little hard to follow. Definitely would recommend this book to any horror fan.

Hmm...
Revisado: 07-07-15
The premise of the story was quite good, but given the clichéd dialogue and the one dimensional characters it was a struggle getting thru this story. I think the author tried to make the main character a conflicted warrior, but I found him a bit weak and whiny. Yes, there were some twists at the end, but not really believable. Bottom line, glad I bought this in a book sale and didn't waste a credit on it.

I really hate to write this cause I really love BL's stories, but this is really juvenile...are these storie from before he was actually a writer? They are simple and kind of dumb, really, no other words to describe.
