Historia
Meet Jim Carrey. Sure, he's an insanely successful and beloved movie star drowning in wealth and privilege — but he's also lonely. Maybe past his prime. Maybe even...getting fat? He's tried diets, gurus, and cuddling with his military-grade Israeli guard dogs, but nothing seems to lift the cloud of emptiness and ennui. Even the sage advice of his best friend, actor, and dinosaur skull collector Nicolas Cage isn't enough to pull Carrey out of his slump.

If I wanted a science fiction book I would have picked a better one.
Revisado: 01-16-23
Jeff Daniel’s is the only reason it has 2 stars. I do not enjoy science fiction. I think there was an insight into Jim Carrey’s mind. I HAD respected him for his work in films, art and my belief he had a more spiritual life. He may have that but this blathering non sense did not convey it. My hopes this book was not written to enrich himself more to wallow in the excesses he described in the book. I had hoped for More from him. I could be totally incorrect and my thoughts certainly do no matter to him. Just sharing for others. I endured the book.

Historia
What do a Jesuit priest and a Buddhist nun have in common? It may sound like the opening to a joke, but it’s actually the question that initiated an extraordinary spiritual collaboration. Father Greg Boyle and Pema Chödrön came together in a night of interfaith conversation for a great cause: aiding Homeboy Industries, the world’s largest rehabilitation, re-entry, and job training program for former gang members. Originally founded by Father Greg in 1992, Homeboy Industries has helped thousands of people find renewed hope after leaving gang life.

Historia
Once described by The Washington Post as "the most interesting mayor you've never heard of", Pete Buttigieg, the 36-year-old Democratic mayor of South Bend, Indiana, has improbably emerged as one of the nation's most visionary politicians. First elected in 2011, Buttigieg left a successful business career to move back to his hometown, previously tagged by Newsweek as a "dying city", and transformed it into a shining model of urban reinvention.

He spent his first three years on Death Row at Holman State Prison in despairing silence.

The love of his mother and friend and the love he sustained in truly unbelievable conditions of injustice. This book will bless many . Thank you Ray. Your story has blessed me for certain.

In the quiet of twilight, on an early autumn day, 26-year-old Elisa Vandersteel is killed while riding her bicycle along the Charles River. It appears she was struck by lightning - except the weather is perfectly clear, with not a cloud in sight. Dr. Kay Scarpetta, the Cambridge Forensic Center's director and chief, decides at the scene that this is no accidental act of God. Her investigation becomes complicated when she begins receiving a flurry of bizarre poems from an anonymous cyberbully who calls himself Tailend Charlie.

Wanted to try a new author as I've enjoyed all of Michael Connelly books. I'm certain this author had her fan base but way too slow and tedious. Characters well developed but not enough action woven throughout the book.

A beautiful, moving book and bonus love story. Proof 1 person (several others too) can do amazing things and effect so many people for many many years. I cried, laughed and felt the rage at the child trafficker but in the end proud to know there are many people such as Conner. Love moves mountains
