A balanced account of game changes, conflicts and ambitions. The fall from popular grace of the previously adulated brother of the heir to the British throne as a consequence of his marriage to a beautiful and dynamic Hollywood starlet of colour makes for fascinating listening in best-selling royal author Lady Colin Campbell's balanced account. Lady Colin knows her royal history and psychology, and as the first seven years of her adult life were spent in the USA, she has a foot in both the American and British camps.

Not the April 16, 2024, updated version
Revisado: 04-27-24
I've been trying to get the updated version since a couple of months prior to April. When I look up the product page, sometimes it says it's the new version, sometimes the old version. When I try to buy what's supposed to be the new version, I once again get the old version and a message I already have it in my library. It's impossible to get from Amazon! I keep hearing the new version is great!! SO FRUSTRATED!!!

Historia
On January 20, 2021, standing where only two weeks earlier police officers had battled with right-wing paramilitaries, Joe Biden took his oath of office. The American people were still sick with COVID-19, his economists were already warning him of an imminent financial crisis, and his party, the Democrats, had the barest of majorities in the Senate. Yet, faced with an unprecedented set of crises, Joe Biden decided he would not play defense. Instead, he set out to transform the nation.

Don't waste your time or credit!
Revisado: 09-10-23
I'm a voracious reader, having read thousands of books in my 73 years. This is the first one I couldn't finish. I'm not a Trump fan nor a Biden fan. I'd like to have 2 other candidates on the November ballot. I have no issue with Biden's age, but I absolutely do about his competence.
Why in the world did I have the impression this would be an interesting book! Somehow, I was expecting the inside scoop, warts and all. If that did eventually happen, I couldn't stick around for it.
This is breathless hero worship, all the same garbage the media has been spewing about Biden and Trump since before Biden took office. Trump evil, bad, incompetent, destroyer of everything he touches...
left the White House and America in ruins.
Trumpets blare! Biden saves the day! With everything against him, the White House, surrounded by thousands of troops ruins, Biden began setting things straight day one, striking down every possible dangerous Trump policy. What a man!
That same day, he not only restored relations with Russia, China and thereby, world order, he also gave Putin a stern warning. Biden did to overcome some difficulty dealing with Covid and Afghanistan. Trump locked him into plans on Afghanistan, and left no plan at all to implement the vaccine after Biden saw to it that is was ready, but he overcame once more.
Biden's much more intelligent than the Ivy League set around the Capitol. He was made to be the President! I'd be interested in knowing how the author knew so much about how the Trump White House operated. It seems as if he was given access there too. I can't imagine how he pulled that one off.
I'm sorry to say the narration made the book even worse, amplifying the hero worship. It sounded as if the words glowed as they came out of his mouth.
In my opinion, a good part of this is a work of fiction. I'd put it in the trash where it belongs. I can't remember ever writing a negative book review before, but I didn't like this book even a little...just one woman's opinion.

A Story of God and All of Us is a sweeping narrative that dramatizes some of the most important events and characters in the Bible. The book is narrated like a fine novel, dramatizing the sweep of biblical events, making the men and women of scripture come alive in vivid detail and dialogue. All are historically and theologically accurate. A 10-hour miniseries on the History Channel will be based on the story, and the script has been reviewed by a number of Christian church leaders and seminarians for authenticity.

In You Can’t Joke About That, Kat Timpf shows why much of the way we talk about sensitive subjects is wrong. We’ve created all the wrong rules. We push ourselves into unnecessary conflicts when we should feel like we’re all in this together. When someone says “you can’t joke about that,” what they really mean is “this is a subject that makes people sad or angry.”

Revisado: 04-30-23
An engaging debut by an exceptionally talented writer and comedian. An outstanding new approach to the subjects of free speech and comedy. Personal, frank, hilarious at times, insightful, personal, intelligent, timely, enjoyable, mind-bending, extremely unique and did I say personal? it's one of the best books I've read, and I've read .thousands. In case you can't tell, I loved it! Kat's going places. Watch her!

What An Event!
Revisado: 03-20-23
I thoroughly enjoyed her first book but she went way beyond my expectations, which were high, with this book. This is the first time that I've been overwhelmed by emotion and overcome by tears at the end of such a book. I've had to settle down and take a few deep breaths. I want to shout out to the free world that they need to read/listen to this book. In years past it would be required reading in our schools. A sad state of affairs that it won't be today. A brilliant analysis of our struggling country with thoughts about where we might be headed and her ideas to set us back on track. Impressive, enlightening and very enjoyable history lesson of America, Korea and China. Plus, she has a consistent positive attitude that is infectious. I 'll be listening to this book several more times. I'm sure there are plenty of nuggets within that I missed. Definitely highly recommend!

In In Order to Live, Yeonmi Park shines a light not just into the darkest corners of life in North Korea, describing the deprivation and deception she endured and which millions of North Korean people continue to endure to this day, but also onto her own most painful and difficult memories. She tells with bravery and dignity for the first time the story of how she and her mother were betrayed and sold into sexual slavery in China and forced to suffer terrible psychological and physical hardship before they finally made their way to Seoul, South Korea - and to freedom.

I'm a huge fan of the "In Death" series written as J D Robb and didn't think I would like any of her other books as much. I'm surprised how much I love The Witness. It grabbed me within the first ten minutes, and I couldn't stop listening through to the very satisfying ending. This is my favorite Nora Roberts book yet. I'm sure I'll be listening to it again. Highly recommend!

while waiting for the release of her new J D Robb book but was pleasantly surprised. I loved it! There were many things in this book that reminded me of an Eve Dallas case and even a tad of Dean Koontz towards the end. It wasn't a placeholder after all, but the next book. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Another enjoyable book by Nora Roberts, my favorite author by far. I love the fine detail she uses setting the scene, attire, mood, well everything that makes a book special. I'm a huge of her "In Death" series written as J D Robb and in many ways Harry Booth reminds me of the delicious Roarke another classy master thief. Yum! As the book moved along, I found it more difficult to turn it off. I also enjoyed the narration by Will Damon. He doesn't read the book to you. You recognize lives and feel their emotions. Very well done! Overall, Avery satisfying listen. I highly recommend it!

Eye Opening to the Real Story
Revisado: 11-30-22
Excellent book! I've followed the laptop story. They've tried everything from denying it's existence to the usual claim that it was Russian disinformation, even claiming John Paul MacIsaac was a Russian operative. I just read an article that claims he said he did not see Hunter Biden drop off the laptop at his store, but assumed it was his because it had a Beau Biden Foundation sticker on it! That's a wild one. Who could jump to that conclusion? It's been difficult to know what to believe, although I've always leaned towards believing Mr MacIsaac. It took a lot of courage to take the first steps to do the right thing, even after it was clear his life, means of support, and his dream was over. After Hunter Biden abandoned it, he only wanted to get it to the right people and out of his hands. That's all he ever wanted. He tried everything, but he was a novice going against such people. So now, his life has been changed forever. I'm thankful for what he did. I'm thankful for this book. How sad it is that the very government that is supposed to protect us has done just the opposite in his case. Sadly, it isn't over for him, but I'm sure he'll land on his feet. I'm not a Trump supporter, but I believe strongly in fairness no matter who it is. I've already given a copy to a friend, and I'll be getting copies for my boys to give them for Christmas. His true story needs to get out, and I hope this book is a best seller. It should be. It is part of a very unsavory part of our history. I wish him the best. God bless him.
