How do teams succeed?
Revisado: 03-18-18
I have read Daniel Coyle before and he did not disappoint here. This book is a fine exploration of how highly successful teams are able to achieve such success due to the environment and culture that they create.

Hardboiled goodness
Revisado: 03-18-18
This book is over 20 years old, but don't let that turn you away. It is a solid thriller. The book moves smartly and is a perfect pairing with a narrator who nails the vibe.
The storyline is not deep, it is basically an escalating revenge fantasy, but the characters and narration make it worth while. Definitely recommend.

Dark quirky story continued
Revisado: 03-18-18
This series is sort of the anti-Sex in the City. The narrator even sounds like the television Samantha when she reads the character of Samantha in the book.
This book continued the story from the first book, but was much stronger. The first book was well written, but seemed to be a set up for this to continue. I hope that the third book is released on audio. I would like to see what happens next with these characters.
Side note - I enjoyed the easter egg of a famous author and one of his characters as FBI agents.

Inspired by actual events. An FBI agent unknowingly falls for the femme fatale that he is investigating in a separate case involving murder for hire. The Big Wow has a complex cast of hard-boiled characters that'll keep you on the edge of your seat... guessing till the end. Gripping, dark and edgy - this ain't your grandmother's pot boiler!

Good narration confusing story
Revisado: 03-18-18
This book had a lot of interesting bits and could have been solid, but it seemed like two books sort of crammed together. This made things confusing.
The narrator did an excellent job, but he really couldn't pull it off.

Great second book in series on King Arthur
Revisado: 03-18-18
David Pilling has written a fresh take on the Arthurian legends. He is using the Welch texts as much of his source materials so it is an Arthur you may not have seen before.
I enjoyed the first book I received as a review copy so much that I used a credit for this one.
Paul Jenkins continues his excellent narration of the series.

Crackling good historical fiction
Revisado: 03-18-18
This book was well written and even better in narration. It moved along smartly and did not leave me uninterested at any point.
The proof is in my actions. I enjoyed this enough that I spent a credit to get the next book in the series. I really hope that Paul Jenkins reads all of them.

Action-packed historical fiction
Revisado: 02-21-18
This was a fun tale influenced by Arabian Nights. The warrior John Page survives by telling his life story to the Turkish Sultan upon the fall of Constantinople. I don't normally read historical fiction, but enjoyed the book. It was action packed and didn't dwell or slow at any point. I look forward to the continuation of John's story.
Nick Denton did a fine job reading all the characters and elevated the work with his effort.

Historia
According to the police report, the attractive, blue-eyed blonde had been shot to death in her apartment at around 7:30 p.m. Then how was it possible that nearly 50 people saw her dining and dancing at a nearby club over three hours later? Set in the late 1980s, the third Brett Cornell novel finds the studly private detective surrounded by the usual bevy of beautiful women, as well as a few seedy characters who foolishly decide to butt heads with the supreme unscrupulous bastard himself.

Well read silly book
Revisado: 02-20-18
This book is an amusing send-up of the private eye. The lead character Brett is possibly the vainest individual you will experience. But, the author does a nice job of letting the character foibles shine through even in 1st person POV.
It's easy to see that Travis Henry Carter has fun with this character.

Different style in good follow-up
Revisado: 02-13-18
This is the second book in the Brian Freeman Frost Easton series. It features the SF Homicide Inspector almost completely this round. In the first book of the series, he had a shared billing.
I enjoy the Brian Freeman and Joe Barrett team of author and narrator very much, with this being no exception.
The plot was a bit of a stretch, but I still enjoyed the story and was glued to my headphones until the end.
